Do you have a link to the turbo you purchased ?. Thinking about something like that for my TBR7 not so much for the power but for altitude compensation as i'm riding between 6 and 8000ft. i think it takes about 3 psi to get to the equivalent of sea level which should be fine.

If I had to guess, it is an IHI RHB31 VZ21, or a copy of one. Pretty much the smallest production turbocharger on the market. They can support up to a max of 100hp, and run on engines down to about 125cc.

Nice to see what you have done and the reasons your doing things, Please keep us updated on the chain tensioner as in how it helps or not and how it holds up. Thanks again Megadan.

Yes as stated, its a vz21 turbo. These turbos run 7psi stock.
I have been doing alot of research and have decided to go blow through carb set up as most people could see by the pics. This requires the fuel bowl to b equally pressurized equal to boost pressure. Also needs your bowl vent in inlet side of carb to b blocked off or fuel will flood out of it

I noticed the straight axle, how does it turn? Do you do sweet doughnuts with it?!

Nandor 05-15-2019 12:00 AM

The straight axle turns great on dirt. Really doesn't cause it any troubles at all. Ive had it on hard surfaces and it turns almost aswell.
Oh yeah does make for good donuts does them in second

Would you be so kind as to give us a turbo carb prep tutorial? Pics of the necessary mods would be most helpful. Thanks!

No a problem, be more than willing to show u all how it goes together. Will b a while till i have all the necessary bits all plumbed and wired for this and need to finish all the frame with mounts and get it powder coated.

Well made a bit of progress on the weekend.
Made a reducer to go from turbo to carby
Polished compressor housing
Tacked up carby manifold ready for welding
Got all pipe work in right place and tacked so now can go down and get it all mandrel bent
Ordered black stainless braided lines and connections and mocked up where they will run
And decided on placement for filter, battery, oil pump, oil cooler and accelerator cable of course cable needs shortening and a 90° bend into top of carb.
