For certain my fault on the 'killing blow' but it started from a stripped thread so I'll go 80/20 on that and pay for another :)

I too would like to see my part in a more timely fashion. However, in Pitster's defense they did tell me about the one they could take off a bike, but I did not have my credit card on hand and I forgot / was too busy to call them before COB on Friday. I guess they sold the bike on the weekend, so good for them which is good for us. I want to see more china bikes out there especially Pitsters, Qlinks, Zongs, and a few others (Lifan is on my "may recommend" list due to their current issues in the US).
Gary @ pitsterpro seems to be a very stand up guy and Chris in parts seems to know what he is talking about as well. Come the middle of next week my attitude will change if I do not have a tracking number though. I'm pretty patient and more than reasonable and I fully expect those I do business with to be the same. There are only 237 miles or KM on my bike. I will be requesting an additional 4 week warranty period because the dang thing isn't even dirty. We shall see what we shall see. The customer is always right, as long as the customer is reasonable :) Daddy 8) |
Called on Monday. Was on hold for 41 minutes. Still no answers. Winter is fast approaching and I want to get some pavement time in. My happiness level has decreased.

I'm really sorry to hear this...
Have you looked through the microfiche at BikeBandit.com or similar to see if another machine uses the same cover? An XR perhaps, as Spud suspects? |
Take the cover around to some machine shops and see what they have to say.
|
Can you post a photo of the cover off of the bike that will show the bolt pattern? I'd be happy to compare it with my '96 XR250R.

|
It's not the same as a CRF250. I just checked that.

Or an XR250...

Or a KTM...

Or a DRZ...

I agree with Cal, if Pitster cant/wont help you, I would try some machine shops to see if they can do something for you. Very sad that Pitster would sell a machine and not support it. The single biggest problem with the chinabikes. Hopefully a machine shop can weld it up for you, I know they weld cases on occasion when they get damaged. Hoping you get it fixed and get some riding in soon.
Cheers, Stew |
Or a YFZ...

Or a Rotax...

Or a KLR...
Sorry. I tried. :( |
