Well it was a nice sunny 65* day yesterday. I took her out for a 150+ mile ride. Man it was nice. I made the mistake and stopped to listen to one of my buddies playing music at one of the local sports bar. Before I knew it it was dark out and the temps had dropped to the upper 30's. I had a 40 mile ride back home. I pretty much stayed warm all the way home except for my hands. I forgot my insulated gloves at home. I usually leave them in my saddle bags but for some reason I had took them out. By the time i got home my fingers were blue and numb. :ohno: Oh well, I still enjoyed the ride even though it took me about a half hour to get feelings back in my fingers. lol
Oh yeah, I had took a different route back home and didn't know they were doing road work. Got to remember it was dark, so didn't see the gravel until i was almost on it. When I hit that loose gravel doing about 55 mph, the butt puckering started. :wtf: That will wake you up real quick. lol |
That's when you stick the left hand in the jacket pocket and throw the throttle hand out to the wolves! I've wadded mt throttle hand up in my T-shirt before but only once.

One thing I did test out was the LED headlight. Even on low beam the LED lit up the road well. Big improvement over the stock bulb. Driving through the middle of the swamp there are no such thing as street lights. Pitch black. |
Hey Jerry.. question.. have you done any 2-up on the Vulcan S, if so how was it? Im looking to sell my '03 Mean Streak and buy something newer and powerful enough for 2-up.. was looking into an M109R but so expensive at $15k.. thanks.. and if it was discussed already in this thread i apologize in advance..

I've been caught in that kind of temperature change before without warning with my summer gloves (perforated). I ended up stopping at a service station and buying a pair of work gloves that fit over my riding gloves to keep my hands from freezing off. It actually worked rather well. My hands weren't toasty warm, but it definitely kept my fingers from freezing off.

I've been using these gloves for about a year and a half and work well. I don't know about -40* temps but work well down in the 20's and 30's for sure. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 |
I picked up my Extended Reach seat today. Can't wait to install it and test it out. 5 o'clock can't get here quick enough. lol The seat does feel much softer with the gel insert. I hope the weather cooperates over the weekend so i can put some miles on it. :D

I just got back from a long ride. The extended seat is way better than stock for me. The seat is firm but feels like it's wider and flatter. Way more comfortable than the medium reach. No more pressure on the tail bone. :D

I got the cruise control in last week and installed it over the weekend. This one didn't get lost in the mail. In fact it arrived in 9 days once it shipped even with the Chinese New Years. Works perfect. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005...21ef1802krgBOo

I had that style of throttle lock on my GL1000. The do work rather well.
More interesting than that is I found that there are copies of the throttlemeister style throttle lock bar ends for sale on Aliexpress too. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005...mend-recommend I love my Throttlemeisters on my VFR. They were not cheap though. I am almost curious to order a set of these just to try them out. |
The link is not working but know what you are talking about. On my Ghost i snugged the bar ends up against the throttle and worked perfect. It had just enough tension to hold in position. Poor mans cruise control. lol
