what do you think!

What if I changed my carb out to a 30mm like the ones on e bay heres a link to one of the ones I was looking at

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Moto...1%7C240%3A1318

I wounder if the link came out

and for the tank lining I would have to take off my bike cause it's a few day process right? Did you jet your carb? Cause if I stay stock then I'll jet it, but I wanna know if you could notice a diff...Thanks

Forklift352 02-17-2009 11:26 PM

Answer to the first ? Yes, you will have to take off the tank....Sooooo
might as well up grade the wiring harness.
The second......a larger carb most likely will not see much gains.
And the cost/ time to fit and tune..... .Now if you installed a higher
compression piston and more aggressive cam, a larger carb would come
into play.
Yes I did the clip MOD and I jetted to I think 115.But this summer
I think I will be doing some intensive tuning and I will post results.
I got a new fuel tank and had a petcock welded on the other side.
I will have it sand blasted soon and I will be lining my tank. Before install
and paint I will be upgrading wiring from mid-chopper to front.

I would keep your stock carb and move the clip and rejet for more performance. The 30 is likely to big unless you do internal engine mods.

I noticed a big change after the exhaust and rejet on my lifan dualsport. The larger jet helps alot.

what's the mod clip you're talking about? I took off my jet to size it up with others so i'll be replacing that very soon....

Try this thread for jet and c-clip mod directions.

aaahhhh

sweet okay, I get it now, sorry i'm not the brightest of the bunch but those pictures explain it all... Thanks.... What size spark plug did you use? Are autopilot spark plugs good? the bike came with NGK but it looks cheap, very cheap.

katoranger 02-18-2009 02:26 PM

I use an NGK.

okay

okay I've cleaned out the carb and the jets tighted the pin at the bottem of the carb I think it's the air/fuel mixture screw, and still when I open up the throttle the bike just wants to shut down like if no gas is getting to the engine, do you think it has anything to do with the chip in the carb. And this is in any gear, 1st gear is sluggish kinda, doesn't really want to take off(really high rpm) 2nd gear is alright, 3rd gear the gas is getting to the engine at WOT and 4th is the same. If i'm babing the throttle then it's not that bad and I can't it past 65 and this is on the stock speedo(very slow)

By the way I should be getting my rear view mirrors tomorrow. SWEET!

thearmyguy 02-20-2009 09:31 PM

got my mirrors.. sweet!

okay I moved the chip in the carb and the bike respones a lot better but again in WOT it seems like the engine is lacking gas and wants to shut down.. please I need help....

Forklift352 02-21-2009 02:10 AM

Ok....full tank of gas
carb is clean
moved the "chip" on the needle
petcock valve open
diddle with the air/fuel knob.....
Their is a small screw toward the front of the carb
its at the bottom. Its tricky to get to but a "s" shaped flat head
screw driver can get to it.That is another adjustment
I cant rightly remember the processes, but I think at idle turn that
screw at the bottom front till just before cut out....back it up a turn or two.
Then adjust the air/fuel knob.
Hope that helps...let me know.

thearmyguy 02-21-2009 08:05 AM

i'll try

I just odered my main jet 115 type i hope this helps too, Ill be going up to atlanta for the weekend so i cant mess with the bike till tomorrow when i get back.... ill keep you posted

thearmyguy 02-22-2009 08:39 PM

fuel filter?

my buddy just told me that it might be the fuel filter could this be a maybe? I'm getting a new one tomorrow and also changing all my fuel lines while i'm at it.... it's bugginf me that I cant open the throttle all the way.........
