ive tested every thing i get an input signal all the way from the pick up to the cdi i then get a extremely low voltage out of the cdi to the ignition coil........ 1.2V 2.2V .5V nothing consistent and its same in AC or DC testing

yea i checked the Tw book and tested it ageist my stator and got the proper ohms of resistance with in spec 850-1100ohms depending on weather or not I'm cranking the bike or not the TW book didn't give a trigger voltage tho

Measure the resistance values when the engine is cold. You don't make any measurements while cranking the engine. ;) Here are the resistance values from the TW200 and XT225 Service Manuals.

Electrical System Resistance Values

Spark plug cap resistance:
Both Yamaha manuals specifiy 10K Ohms

Ignition coil resistance:
Primary Coil: Yamaha XT225 manual specifies 0.56 to 0.84 Ohms
Secondary Coil: Yamaha XT225 manual specifies 5.68K to 8.52K Ohms

Pickup/Pulse Coil Resistance:
Both Yamaha manuals specify 656 to 984 Ohms

Exciter/Charge Coil Resistance:
Yamaha XT225 Manual specifies 584 to 876 Ohms

I suggest you measure the stator/exciter coil resistance once again while the engine is cold. The resistance value you reported seems a bit high. Also, the pickup coil has been know to fail for the TW200 motorcycles. ;)

ok ill try at lunch and btw spud your right accreditation so over rated
looks like the animal i saw under the cover..... http://translate.googleusercontent.c...1wIK7qEpnToXOQ
good news is it looks like the rotor is the same AC or DC http://translate.googleusercontent.c...8svCEbzjDhRjcQ

Yes, that's the correct stator and pickup coil. :) I really don't think you are having any problems with your flywheel (rotor). ;)

Corvairkid 05-31-2013 01:52 PM

so i took the plunge (since i got nothing better to do then play with a tinker toy set) and ordered a set of coils and a rotor might as well re place the wiring harness while I'm at it :P jk but this time i know ill have an ac stator ac box AC coil's all AC i will make this bike run if its the last thing that runs over me!

meh it sat a round a long time and god knows what it went thru before hand if i'm going to swap it might as well swap all of it i need to find some torque figures now i think the TW book has some you showed me

If you decide to change the flywheel, you are going to need a flywheel puller and a flywheel holder. ;)

Indeed, I suggest you study the TW200 Service Manual. It explains all the tools needed, the procedure to follow, and the torque specifications for each bolt. :)

Corvairkid 05-31-2013 06:30 PM

i got the pullers and the holders all ready there main stays for pulling aircraft charging systems
but yea i need to see the book and study it

Corvairkid 05-31-2013 06:47 PM

and fyi a good leather belt and a strong grip makes a good fly wheel holder in a pinch

Corvairkid 05-31-2013 07:53 PM

soooo i come to find my flywheel puller dosnt fit my bike... joy.... any one happen to know what size it is off hand?

Yes, read post #45 in the following thread. ;)

thanks spud we need assemble a crash kit book on all this ie build a better zong service manual

SpudRider 06-01-2013 11:47 AM

Most of your ZS250GS engine is identical to the engine in my ZS200GY-2. ;) Therefore, a lot of the threads in the "Zong Sticky" also apply to your bike, Kid. :)

hey good looking out, i was coming to that conclusion but i was a bit slower to the punch i see i was going to start asking about head light wiring since the chump cut the damn plug off the harness.....
