http://www.chinariders.net/attachmen...1&d=1444755580 In this orientation, vapor hits the filter wall and then goes up through the top wall. The resistance of going through two filter walls drops the pressure and reduces condensation. This keep the filter from saturating (as much) and drips less liquid into the catch tube. |
Thank you for confirming the design of the OCS. It's much too cold for me to take mine apart. ;)
Indeed, you have accurately summarized my theory of operation. :) http://www.chinariders.net/showthrea...ressure&page=4 |

For my bike & riding style I have found that refueling at about 180-200 miles on the trip meter takes about 3 gallons. You will learn with yours what is needed. Welcome aboard. |
How do these OCS units come apart? Screw apart or are they meant to be a thrown away and replaced? rj

I have read through every post and still not sure exactly what to think . Is there a right or wrong installation? Does it really matter? Is one way beneficial to the operation of the bike? Is one way detrimental to the operation of the bike? The white bike had the OCS installed per what I have read is the correct method (clamp on bottom/hose enters top side) the new black bike has it installed opposite. Neither bike has had any fluid collected in the tube. The white bike 300km and the black 120km both clean and fluid free. The tube does get very soft and seems to collapse on itself like it has a vacuum in it. This is not severe enough to be concerned...i hope. So after all this ranting...the question is to flip or not to flip???? :hmm:

Flip it Mike or every time you walk by it, it will rip your pant leg off with anxiety and you'll never sleep again at night. :) And it would be a fun project just to know you know more then the person who put the bike together. Maybe it's their little way of rebelling against the system to knowingly put it in upside down and stick it to us Americans. And they thought we wouldn't notice. rj

Damn you RJ for playing the patriotic card. That and the more I thought about the idea of being shunned at the 1st Annual RX3 Rally and Extravaganza that I assume is going to be held at Spuds house after I crossed the Darien Gap all because my OCS wasnt socially accepted I just had to do it!!!

It FEELS GREAT!!! I did a 120km trip today over the rivers and through the mountains...literally through the mountains since they have added like a hundred new tunnels on the road between my city and Bogota. They are taking a 2 lane road and adding many new tunnels and bridges to make it a 4 lane road, which is desperately needed. One of the newest old tunnels along this road is so long that motorcycles are forbidden so we have to take the really old road out of town to bypass it. And that road absolutely sucks!! Seriously it has 6 inch deep trenches where the fuel tankers have slowly sunken into the asphalt. Its like the old wagon train routes you see in Colorado. Very friggin dangerous on a bike. Once you get in you cant get out. You can see them in my video. I think they are going to resurface that road too but not sure when. The road is usually congested with semi trucks, tanker trucks and every type of smaller truck and cage you can imagine. The road to Bogota was virtually empty today and it felt like my own private drive. The ride home was a different story. Lots of cars and traffic since its a long weekend and everyone is headed to warm weather. Tried to shoot some video but only got a 10 minute clip from the beginning of the route. Will try to post it later. The bike ran awesome and I am extremely happy now that I have black...which is obviously the fastest color.

FWIW I pulled my bike out for a 130 mile mostly highway run and checked the crankcase ventilation tube half way into the trip and it was completely full.so I drained it.
Got home and checked and it was full to the top again. Drained again onto the ground and put a striker to it and it burned. I think I will drain my oil today and see if Im detecting fuel in my oil. |
I'd check that injector and make sure its not leaking by.

I noticed that I had the tube partially filled with fluid to
Did not know if that was normal or not |
