My friend iron butt larry and I have discussed smaller ADV bikes, this will be hard to beat especially for the money, it's Chinese not a BMW! I could see replacing my vstrom for one as I am not fond of interstates anyway so 60mph/100kmph is ok. I hope to take a road trip soon and put a 100+km and get into 6th gear some.

    Hi Mike
I have a Suzuki 650 vstrom in USA, but have only been riding after decades just over a year. I wanted to bring my vstrom, but it is better it didn't work. So far I have only ridden in the city 5-20km at a time getting used to Colombia driving(far diff from USA). The bike being 150+lbs lighter is better suited for Colombia, and I did not buy it for transportation(busses, metro, taxi are better) BUT it is easy enough to ride for errands daily, powerful, in gear when needed for uphill(650 spoiled me having enough power always). I looked at KTM, Suzuki, Honda, Kawasaki, royal enfield.... For the money and for a dual sport/ADV bike it's a gem. Some flaws. Clutch, front brakes, battery, lights, nothing I know or have heard major, some bad parts,in USA brake rotor. The version AKT builds has a carb, so choke to start but so far no problem. I would be hard pressed to find something better at twice the price. Hope to go to the medellin club meeting one Friday, 30-40 already here

Hello. Mike in Villavicencio. Still debating on a new moto. My local stores (Exito and Alkosto) are both sold out of the white 250´s. I have found lots of info on the AKT 250 but most of it is old and it seems to be from commercial interests. I was really hoping to see some real world private individuals doing some recent reviews now that there seems to be more and more of them hitting the streets. Would like to hear about your experience so far with yours.
