How's the trip going? Haven't seen you post in a while, so I thought I would shoot you a quick message and inquire after your well-being? How is everything going down south? Are you catching a lot of rainy weather this time of year? Just checking in, hope you're safe and that all's well and right in your world.

Fellow Georgia boy here but I'm down in the coastal flats of Savannah, Ga. Did you grow up in the mountains? Thanks for the info about the break in a mods. I thought it prob be best to run some miles before changing anything but fluids. I'm just nervous about the stock top speeds on my mostly posted 55 commute to work but people will just have to go around my slow ass!

No offence taken, it was a pleasure to meet you. Yea I'm still planning on taking the Hawk, I keep trying to find a good reason not to and take my well sorted CRF 250L instead. Yet the appeal of being able to walk away from the Hawk in the event I have to is it's appeal. Plus not having to be concerned with as shipping use another big plus. As far as the rear shock goes I'm thinking about compressing the spring and inserting spacers to increase preload.

    Regards

    Hey Mark,

I'm the somewhat obnoxious Hawk owner that you met at Horizons VA last week. It was great to meet a fellow Hawk owner, but somewhat embarrassing when I referred to you as a "noob" without knowing who you are on this board. Yeah, I've put my foot in my mouth so often that I've become accustomed to the taste of mud \-:

Are you still planning to take your Hawk to South America? You mentioned being on a quest for a rear shock that isn't like a pogo stick. Any luck? Unfortunately my shock never bottoms out. Instead my lower back gets slammed every time I hit a whoopdie or pothole.

It was great to meet you at Horizons. I do apologize that I left an less than stellar impression. I'm not always like that. Just mostly )-:

    Cheers,

    Corry
