Dual sport tires for my Hellcat

I'm in the middle of converting my Hellcat to a dual sport type bike(almost done). I'm going to be installing dual sport tires. I think I'm going to go with either the Maxxis M6024 or the Kenda K761. Probably going to go with the Maxxis, looks like a more aggressive tire but a little more pricey. Im not sure about the size I should get either, the bike came with 120/70's, front and rear, but I'm thinking about going up to a 130/70. I think the 130's should fit just fine. I'm going to try to install these myself.
Does anyone here have any experience with these tires. Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks.

I would say go with the maxis if you're gonna do any real offroading. The kenda looks like itd be scary off-road.

If it's like 90/10 and just some fire roads the kenda would probabbyl be fine. Be careful at speed on dirt though

Kenda's.... You will spend alot more time on hard pac surfaces...
knobble style is ok on softer surfaces that the nobbs can penatrate
but on hard surfaces you need rubber on the ground and not rideing
on the top of little nobbs...

Get the maxxis. That what i want.

120/70 front 130/70 rear
120/70 front and rear

You could also do two 130/70 front and rear since you have the high fender.

I ordered the maxxises and a tire spoon kit. Looking at some youtube vids, it doesnt look like changing tires is an easy feat especially on a 12 in rim. Should be fun. Crap, just felt an earthquake. Pretty strong jolt. I'm gonna go put on my shoes just in case I have to run out of here.

Really I didn't feel it, north cali
I feel you about the tire change thats why i haven't got the tires yet.
But i have been researching the best diy tire change options.

Thanks for sharing that vid China, that guy made it look easy. I think I might try that before I open the spoon kit i bought. OH, the quake was a 4.4 about 20 miles from where I live. It got my attention.

Dirt ol Joe is a pretty good Grom vlogger. Some of his videos show him riding dirt roads in my area. I'd like to ride with this dude.

Ya 4.4 thats a decent one! lot of quakes down there lately.

I thought you would like that vid. Ha he made it look to easy, even fun to try.
There is a few other zip tie videos on reg size tires...i even saw one of a guy trying it on a grom/maxxis but he failed. Maybe find that one for what not to do...Please let me know how it goes if you try it, you prob do it before me.

The small rims do suck a little more to change but it's dooable. I mounted some lug tires to the 10" rims on the rear of my lawn tractor. Not as nice as a 21" skinny front of a dirt bike. Lots of patience and a few beers.

I can't wait to see the hellcat with the knobbies.

After a couple of hours of sweating my ass off in a hot garage and spewing a few choise words I managed to get my Maxxis tires installed. What a pain in the butt! I tried the zip tie method first but it didn't work for me. I didnt really have a good anchor point and I only had a few pieced of 2x4's, couldn't make it work except for breaking the beads. I ended up using the spoon kit I bought from Amazon, they worked but it was a struggle for me. The kit came with rim protectors but I still managed to put a few nicks in the paint, no big deal.It's done and now I can finish up my project, all the hard stuff is done. The tires look great!

Tires look great! That sucks such a struggle, now has me thinking i should just pay to get them on. Maybe if its a day i feel like a workout i'll go for it. Wait size tires did you go with?

Can't wait to see the retro headlight it's going to look so nice.

I think next time I'll just pay to have them installed, I dont really want to do it again. I went with the stock tire size 120/70-12 front and rear. I bought a cool looking round headlight but the brackets don't fit, I'll have to fabricate my own brackets but for now I just installed the stock headlight. I just want to get it all back together for I can ride it. It's been like 2 months since I've ridden it

120/70-12 front and rear ok ya thats what i want. Maybe just find a hood tire shop that will do it cheap.

Ya prob fab is best, better then buying more brackets that might or might not fit.

Two months! Man get on it, I have been riding mine almost everyday, mostly short little rides)
