Hawk valves TIGHT

Checked mine today for the first time, and WOW they were tight. I've read it here, and figured I better check and I'm glad I did.....

So just a suggestion for any Hawk owners out there, do it now.

I have yet to come across a post where anyone said otherwise. Mine had ZERO clearance.

Yes TIGHT!!! The guy in the China factory must have a big crescent wrench and is instructed to tighten them to the max J/k

After a shakedown ride tonight the bike is much better, seems to run better, and surprisingly much less vibration at high revs, this is something that has irked from day one. Now the valves are slappy happy noisy and the bike and ride are greatly improved....I think the bike started before my finger actually hit the button, well not really it just seemed that way by how easily it started after the adjustment.

Even if you don't have a set of feeler gauges, loosen the valves until there is noticeable play in the rocker arm.

OK PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT....ALL HAWK BUYERS / OWNERS, ADJUST YOUR VALVES BEFORE REMOVING THE BIKE FROM THE SHIPPING CRATE, IT WILL REDUCE STARTING AND RUNNING WOES FROM HOUR ZERO FORWARD!!!
