Traffic Light Trigger

We've all experienced it. Intersection sensors won't detect your motorcycle so you get no green light. A bit of a nuisance.

So I'm wondering if anyone has successfully used a "traffic light trigger" on a dual sport?

A good strong magnet or two on the bottom the the bike MIGHT trigger them. Hard Drive magnets are easy to get your hands on an can work quite well as they are extremely strong. $14 for a little magnet like that and a zip tie is just a silly waste of money in my eyes

Even a magnet on the bottom of a bike isn't always going to trigger the lights, although it does seem to help a little bit.

Had to chuckle when you pointed out what they are selling. It in fact would be a waste. I paid no attention to it as I was just using it as a reference. I'm thinking of trying the hard drive magnets. Thanks for the input.

I have a strong tweeter magnet stuck to the bottom of my skid plate. Works on most traffic signals but there are a couple that it doesn't work on.

I've dealt with this problem for years and had no idea a magnet stuck to the bottom of the bike can fix this! Great tip, I definitely have to try this now.

Has to be a strong one or else you'll just have to eat that light

Check your local laws. They passed a law here a few years back that if you are on a bike and the light does not trigger after one cycle - you treat it as a Stop sign and proceed when it's safe to do so.

I had a left turn onto I-80 on my morning commute at the time. It would never trigger and I tried magnets and steel toed boots and everything. Most mornings I just had to run it unless a car pulled up behind me. (Which wasn't likely at 4AM)
