The Hawk Lives!

Got the Hawk up and Running! One set of replacement Valves came in, intake is a hair undersize but still seated well enough "for the dooms day prepper in me" Adjusted valves (Cold loose), shimed main jet, and idle jet set to 1 1/2. First ride today Will update later.
Best,
Lefty

Did something happen to require new valves? Sorry if I missed it, bug not seeing why you needed valves.

20 Miles Tick Tick Tick Went The Valves

Thank you Spud Adjusted valves Warm, purrs now. Sparkplug shows lean to ok, so will leave it and monitor. Oh but now I see that the Kick starter sticks out must be off the shelf mismatch, off to see about that.

Yes I got my hawk cause the previous owner at 758 miles thought it was a two stroke and over revved, swallowing the Intake Valve. My Hawk Cost for Purchase, Parts and Registration $700

Cool! I've had sick ideas about using an '83 200E engine, with an XR200R transmission in it. It would give me electric start and no clutch. it would bolt into my China bike.

Try a fat cat engine weld ,electric start ,kick start ,auto clutch ,and an xr engine bolts into a fat cat so it should work both ways .

Puch RIP

Idiot kid I was, The Puch gave way to the 67 mustang, girls, and everything else. Wisdom only comes with experience. Experience only comes with time, thus age. So when we look back only then can we see the error in our ways. What an awesome bike enough torque to pull stumps, And great top end. Cooling fins a Blaster would have envied. Big burly Chen Shing on the back and a Metzger up front. Left a foot peg mark 6 feet up in a tree and walked away without a mark. Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
