I am going to have to look at the tire sizing again.

But I spent alittle more time on it. Plugged in the bystarter. Hit the button. Started like a honda. 8O

Button some things up and took a victory cruise.

I got the throttle cable lubed up and working on the front brake.

Going to need and exhaust gasket. Speedo cable and maybe a front brake cable. I have it soaking in some jb lube.

Go some running video. Its uploading right now.

More pics.
Plugged these wires back in.

Sparkplug area.

Broken dash plastic. This should be an easy repair.

Speedo drive. Looks okay. Going to try and spin it to see if the dash reads.

Buford keeping the naked scooter warm.

And the video evidence that it runs.

Gotta honk the horn.

Awesome!

It starts really well. How was the victory cruise? I imagine that you didn't wring it out since the brakes aren't ready.

Buford looks like he's guarding your scoot.

This bystarter thing is interesting... So, it basically performs the same function as a choke, (richen the mixture) but it does so by adding more gas vs closing off the intake air like a conventional choke? Do all CV carbs work like this or is it a scooter exclusive thing? It sounds really good Kato, I think you got a great deal!

Cheers,
Stew

I didn't leave the neighborhood. Just up and done the street at about 20mph.

The bystarter is an electric enricher device. Works great when plugged in.

So update on status.
The girls started cleaning and I got the front brake cable lubed and working well. Brakes good now. I need to tighten up the rear.

Relocated one of the starting switched to a better location so I don't have to open the hood. It comes up at speed otherwise. I can replace the bolts to hold it down now. Switch is now in the glovebox.

Found out my cordless drill does 27mph. Speedo and odo work. Did a 1/10th mile on the drill.

Removed the broken speedo cable. It was just broken. $15 on bikebandit.

Parts list. Speedo cable, exhaust gasket, rear signal lense.

Things to do. Change oil, change final drive oil, check brake light bulbs, repair windshield, new plug, mount tote, check tire pressures, adjust rear brake, adjust brake/start switch.

I just ordered the few parts needed. Total $37 for a speedo cable, rear turn signal lense, and exhaust gasket.

Trying out this place.
http://www.hondapartshouse.com/ Pricing seems pretty low. The shipping seems alittle high. $15 ups ground. Still better than going to the dealer. I would spend $10 in gas to get there.

Bigheavy. Yes its ugly, but I can look past that.

As long as it's got two wheels and an engine, it's beautiful to me

Started again today. Cold and damp.

I am charging the battery up. It was low from lack of use and then me cranking it and testing everything.

Its suppose to be nice tomorrow, but I won't have it ready to go.

I think I will need upgrade tires though. I wonder if I could swap a disc brake setup from a china 150 with a 12" wheel and low profile tires.

Got me thinking now.

Congratulations, Allen! You are a fortunate man to have beautiful helpers test your electrical system. It seems Buford has also accepted your new ride. Buford is huge!.

We tested all the lights and the horn for functionality.

I was able to fix the brake light today too. Just a sticky switch on the front.

Keep getting closer.

Checked the air filter. Looks new.

I got my guard cat watching over things.

I wouldn't mess around with Buford! 8O You got a great deal, Allen. Honda makes quality vehicles. I agree with FastDoc; the dashboard on your scooter is classy.
