23hp at the tire is still only 23hp at the tire. IMHO, the speeds they achieved given that little bit of power on an open framed bike (not the most aerodynamic) on a salt flat is pretty impressive.

Based on the reviews and videos I've seen of CCW bikes over the years, I'm surprised it didn't fall apart! Loose bolts, shoddy build "quality" seems to be what they are most infamous for.

Don't forget higher prices than Honda for parts, which are just standard Chinese parts.

The way they marketed the bikes was also a whole bunch of BS. They touted them as "American Made" Motorcycles on Jay Leno's Garage. Claimed they were built to their specs, etc. They were just slightly altered designs of existing Chinese bikes that were being sold for double what they should have been sold for.

South America seems to have the CG250 performance scene ringed out. Street Racers are hitting some blistering speed on shade tree engineering and aerodynamics with added superman riding position slip streaming.

If it has an engine Thailand probably races it too...

I can't emphasize this enough, Superman riding is extremly reckless and dangerous.

Ask you can see, when they do this very dangerous driving they do it in the right place and withe the proper gear...
