Nice looking bike, and it has the very reliable CG200 pushrod engine. Is there a rear rack available?

I believe the Ronco is made by Bashan, which seem to have a pretty good clone. I would personally lean towards the Zongshen since they are the same name as the manufacturer, but if the price is enough of a factor, the Ronco should be okay for your needs. I think these Chinese bikes are sorted out by now, with the added bonus for you of actual dealer networks for these bikes. There is a guy on an international adventure site who is located in Peru and offers adventure tourers from around the world help in buying these low cost bikes and getting them on the road rather than the cost of importing a machine from their own home country or spending like $5000 USD on real low-end Hondas and such (bikes seem to have significant tariffs on them all throughout Mexico, Central and South America!).

Here is the thread--maybe you are close by the guy?

That's right...Oldgringo has (had?) one and nothing but very good things to write about it. Unfortunately he cannot help out 'alongway' directly (other than advice) since he moved moved out of Peru and now shares home with Oregon and Ecuador, but I am glad to see the guy from the 'Horizonsunlimited' thread is not too far from him!

AlongwayfromSWGA--the guy in Peru from the thread is a motorcycle mechanic and teaches at the local community college (not sure if you picked that up) so you should be in good hands with pretty much any of your choices you asked about!

Thanks again for his info. I have been emailing back and forth with him and I think he is going to be a great help. The Chinese bike he recommends is the Sumo Toque which is a branch of Zongshen. It looks pretty good!

Thanks again guys!

That's a sharp bike! I'm not positive, but it looks like a Honda OHC clone.
