Got in my Brozz today! Initial Impressions/First Ride

Got my bike in today! A friend came and helped me put it together. Overall the bike was well packaged/shipped. (Did not have much time to shoot pics, but will get some soon). Only a few minor issues. The caliper bolts were too long to clear the rotor. Just went to ace hardware and got a couple of the same size and some washers just in case. That took care of that issue. The rear rack did not want to line up with the mounting holes because it had a slight bend on one side, but it was easily bent back straight and mounted fine with a slight adjustment to the hole with a drill bit. Can't tell anything was wrong afterward. Got two left mirrors lol. I emailed pics and got ahold of someone from Superior. Going to follow up in the morning as I did not realize there were two left mirrors until we were putting them on the bike. Also, the left front turn signal did not work so I need to check and see if it is bad or just not plugged in. All other lights/gauges/switches worked without issue.

I would advise checking the valves before starting. They were tighter than the required spec so we adjusted them. It is a very simple procedure and is outlined in the manual. Also make sure to check over the various nuts/bolts to ensure they are tight. We adjusted the chain and bled the brakes as well.

The fit and finish on the bike is certainly better than I expected, but there are some shortcomings. The paint is smooth and shiny in some areas and other's it has orange peel, but overall looks pretty good. Expect some dust/dirt/sticky depending how long yours has been sitting in a warehouse. Mine was manufactured in May of 2016 so it had been sitting for a bit.

The battery was quick to charge and had no issues starting the bike. After we changed the factory oil, we put some gas in it and it started up the third attempt. The motor is really quiet and sounds very smooth. We let it run till it was warmed up and then shut it off to cool down. Once it cooled down again, we fired it up and I took it for a short ride. The shifting was pretty smooth considering it's new, although neutral was a bit tricky at times to get. It ought to becomes easier as it gets broken in. I am going to put 30 or so miles on it and then change the oil again. Will then change again at 500 or so miles and check the valves/chain.

As far as power goes I was actually pretty surprised how decent it picked up speed. I didn't run it hard of course, but I got it up to around 40-45mph and it was turning around 4750-5k rpm and pulled up a slight hill in 5th gear without any problems at all. I think it would take the back roads just fine at highway speeds although certainly not for the freeway. I think it will easily hit 70-75 in stock form once properly broken in. It is very comfortable, even for a bigger guy like myself. I'm 6'1 and both my feet are just flat on the ground, so it really works for taller riders. The suspension has a solid feel to it and the ride was very smooth on pavement. I of course have not taken it off-road, but will once I get it legal.

Sorry for the long post, but I know a lot of people are wondering about one of these and from my first impressions, the seem like a solid built bike that offers a lot of great features out of the box and would last awhile so long as you keep up on the maintenance. The motor should be super easy to keep running. I am looking forward to putting some miles on it once I get it registered.

I saw your pics man, that's a huge bummer. I hope they get you taken care of fast. Gonna be calling them this morning on my missing right mirror. Already sent email and pics of the two left mirrors. My rack was slightly bent as well, but was easily bent back and installed thankfully. Also got my turn signal working (was unplugged from the harness).

Pretty surprising that they had the valve adjustment procedure in the manual. That's cool........

More commonly known as Chinglish!

As far as the one photo goes of the bike in the steel cage--your bike was on a pallet, which was 'missing' from goat67's Brozz, which seemed to help cause damages to his bike.

That front brake hose needs to be angled down so any trapped air can move up through the master cylinder.

Please post more detailed pictures of the rear rack for our Hawk owners. It could be the start of another group buy as there isn't a source (that I know of) for it.

Rear Rack Photos/Ride Update

Put another 10 miles or so on it today and got it to 55 mph no problem at all and it def had plenty more in it. I was giving it half throttle or so. Trying to break it in a little at a time.

Here are some photos of the rear rack as requested.
