Louis's morning adventure 08/30/2015

Had a great ride in the LBL area this morning.
Had one failure of the new Coleman tank bags, but was quickly remedied and I was back on my way.
( see post # 28 here ---> http://www.chinariders.net/showthread.php?t=15072 )

Once on the road I was wanting to check out, I went through what I THOUGHT was a shallow mud hole that ended up being nearly to the bottom of the seat deep and I got soaking wet from the mid thigh down. Literally had to take my socks off at the end of the trail and ring the water out of them before getting back on the main road. Laid my jacket out is the sun to dry out some too.
I learned some things from todays ride:
1) Whenever possible, do the off roading part of the trip last!
2) Bring clean dry socks & shoes with you, just in case.
3) Pants and jacket dry out very quickly, but socks and shoes / boots do NOT.
4) Put cell phone in a zip-lock bag. Nearly killed my brand new phone in that mud hole.

Was a great adventure. I ( we ) are building these up as small adventure bikes. And it was a great adventure. I would sat that is mission accomplished!

Thanks for posting the nice ride report.

Always avoid mud holes; you can usually find a route around them. If you absolutely can't get around, stop to examine the big holes before entering them.

Welcome. And Spud, the TN Redneck in me tends to go more like
" Oh! There's a mud hole, I must see if I can go through it! "
hahahahaha! But yes, I will be trying to avoid any more big ones like that.

And they were not kidding about the Coleman maddog seat cushion,
it absorbs / holds water like a gigantic sponge. I think it is still
drying out some 7 hours later.

That's a sharp looking bike, I'm glad the mud wasn't deeper. looks like a fun rode. Coleman comfort seat looks great. Tank bags look good as well. Any leg pain after riding a while?

Thanks! So far no. I had hoped on being out 4 hours to break my 3.5 hr record. But only was out 2 1/2 hours due to wet feet. :-/ Maybe next Sunday I will try for 4 again. :-D

Nice looking bike. It could almost pass for a Lifan.
