The lights work. The horn honks. Good tires on aluminum wheels. Nothing is bent. Seller said forward would not work. I got it to go by adjusting the cable. I think the CVT is stuck in a high ratio. Might need a new belt. We will open that tomorrow.

Today's assessment. I think the CVT driven clutch is stuck. Seatbelts buckles are broken. The chain is not aligned and I am trying to figure out how to align that. I think I need to check the motor mounts. Positive battery cable needs replaced.

I'm sure you will soon have things sorted out, Allen.

I like that double row drive chain. How is the planetary reverse mechanism lubricated?

I plan to do some maintenance on it. On the scooters the rear final drive has an oil supply. I think that the reverse is similar.

The drive chain I think is #50 chain.

I did some research and it looks like I want some 9 gram rollers and a yellow torque spring for the clutch. That should make it take off and climb hills. I don't really care about top speed we won't be able to go that fast in the yard.

About $30 for those parts including a new drive belt.

The reverse box is like this one. I don't think there is anything wrong with it.

That vehicle just needed a little TLC. It found a good home.

I like the way the frame is put together on the buggy, it looks to be a very good design. And with Kato's CVT experience, I don't doubt it'll be tooling around soon!

I haven't looked much, but I've never seen reverse incorporated into a GY6. I've only seen the planetary-style that bolts onto the output shaft. Does it separate from the output shaft?

Did the driven clutch turn out to be stuck?

We haven't opened it up yet. Going to do that this afternoon. I have not seen this style either.

Back in from the shop. Girls took the drive apart. I found that the large nut that holds the exhaust mount to the CVT cover backed off and rattled around inside. The Variator is all broken up. The clutch looks okay, but the belt was sitting down too far in the pulley. I took it apart anyway since I plan to order the yellow torque spring for more low end and climbing power. The rollers actually looked pretty good yet, but I plan to buy some 8 gram ones again for more low end power.

Belt still measures in spec, but I will just get a new one since its apart.

We fixed the battery cable connection and took the seatbelts off to see if we can fix the buckles.
