Yeah, I got a laugh out of that very honest description. Not very far from where you live in Houma is it?

About 1 1/2 hour drive. There are a lot of campgrounds in that area. But only two that allow atv's and dirt bikes. There a place out in Mississippi called Muddy Buddy's we are going to try in the summer of next year.

Your welcome. If you ever make it to my part of the world we will have to make a trip to the Bonnet Carre Spillway which is not too far from were I live. It's a good place to go for the day. I wish they would have a place to put campers. That may be something they will do in the future. Best part about it is free to the public. They are suppose to redo all the trails sometime in January.

I survived the 1st day. No problem with mud or water. Everything is dry a bone. Lots of trails and deep holes were the mud bogs are supposed to be. I didn't know wheather to hose the dust off or just use a leaf blower. Lol. 3 more days of this. I hope I can make it back to work on Monday. My old bones are going to be aching. I'll try to get a night trail ride in if I can get a few people together. Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving.

Didn't get the LED's yet but are on my list along with new chain and a few other things. I think I'll need more than ibuprofen lol.

We have an off road riding area about 9 miles south of Bismarck.

http://www.riderplanet-usa.com/atv/t.../ride_30e4.htm

They have a map listed if you want see it. It is mostly sand with some clay and small hills. You can camp but it is primitive and has very few outhouses. On the plus side it is free.

I survived day two. this place magically transformed overnight. We hit the trails early yesterday morning. During the night they must of had a water truck pass on the main trails and wet it down. So nice to not breath dust. Then as we pass the mud pits , they had flooded them with water during the night. There was a steady stream of people coming in all day. So the first day we had taken all the easy trails to learn our way around the place. Yesterday we hit the deep Woods trails. All I can say is wow! I really put the Hawk through the test and held up great. There were some pretty steep grades that had me worried if I would make it or not. Threw it in 1st and climbed it with no problems. Time to hit the trails again. I check the whole bike over last night and nothing broke or lose. 1 st thing to do when I get home is to change the oil. That stuff is black.

As you have found out, these little torque monsters won't be stopped until traction is lost. All about throttle control. It's magic how it will pull out of ditch banks, etc.

They have that up in the NE part of the state and the Canadians come down for it. It should be called "Dirt Bikes Scramble For Beer" because the faster you get done...

That is the Desert/Kimball Bottoms.

The Great Adventure

Good Morning all! Well we survived three days of riding. Sunday morning I couldn't get anyone out of bed. 32* and 15-20 mph winds. Brrrrrrrr. We didn't expect it to get that cold and didn't bring enough warm clothes. I think we all had enough and stayed inside till it warmed up enough to start packing everything up. This place was very popular this weekend. there had to be close to 100 people with ATV's, dirt bike and UTV's. Even with all these people you never really seen them on the trails. Whoever laid it out did a great job. If you look at the map I posted earlier there are the main trail (Red.. more like a gravel road) that circle trough the central part of the property and all the other smaller trails ( Yellow & White) basically are off the main trail and come right back into the main trail. Makes it kind of hard to get lost. The Blue trail runs the perimeter of the property and is the most fun to ride but not designed for beginners. Very steep hills and valleys and mud holes with optional trails around the mud holes. Trails are well marked with signs at intersection of the main trail letting you know how to get back to parking area. There were a couple of ATV's following us and when we got to the first steep hill after they watch me go up they decided not to go up and turned around. lol I spoke to one of them when we got back to the parking area after he kept looking at the bike trying to figure out what kind of bike it was. His curiosity got the best of him and came asked. I think he may be ordering him one soon. He was impressed how it just powered it's way up the hill. I had a few people just walk up and just started checking it out. I got a lot of complements on the look of the bike.
After we got home we took the Hawk and my daughters UTV off the trailer and started cleaning. I was surprised that the chain really didn't get that dirty. I just sprayed off the chain with a hose and washed the rest of the bike. After it dried off I just sprayed the chain with chain lube I had. I checked he whole bike over. Check every bolt and check chain for slack and was still good. No adjusting. I have a busy week so i'm not going to do much riding , if not at all till the weekend. I'll change the oil and pull the chain to clean and wax it on Saturday. We will defiantly go back to this place.

Pembina Gorge trails kind of look like the trails we were riding this weekend. Some good info
