Brand new Pocket bike not starting

i have a pocket bike, wont start no matter what position the choke is in, how much gas i give it. what are some things i should check? how do i check if the spark plug is sparking? what is quick start and will that help?

also, when i got it, the compression was really tight. i took out the spark plug and reinstalled it and its normal but i can hear a leak.

If there's a compression leak, it's not likely to start.

Is your bike a two stroke or four stroke?

Remove the spark plug, plug it into the spark plug wire, and hold the metal base of the spark plug against the side of the cylinder head to ground it (it helps to have an assistant).

Using the kicker, turn the engine over by hand, and watch for spark across the electrode. If you haven't done so already, start with a new NGK. They're cheap at Canadian Tire.
