The LED bulbs that illuminate my speedometer are the only ones which have ever extinguished. I have never had an LED tail light, turn signal, or indicator bulb burn out.

Ooops, i forgot to mention that, is was NOT the same as yours.
I got my monday-morning-or-friday-afternoon-taillight from ebay, but is was exactly the same one as this: http://www.polo-motorrad.de/de/led-r...2-x-40-mm.html I wouldn't buy it again, but after 4 weeks the distributor is only obligated to take it back and send me a new one. The new one will get a nice warm safe place in my closet. I'll give this one a try: http://www.ebay.de/itm/Motorrad-LED-...item35c6d01ba0 |

Not the same one, but the same brand. Now my brake light switch went bad. So back to Polo. They are starting to like me.... I think we need a floating stabilizer for the tail light.

That's interesting what you did to adapt the rear light pod to take a rear facing bulb and it has answered my question not yet asked as to whether you can put an LED bulb into a sideways facing holder such as the one on the rear light of the V-Raptor.
My guess is that the LED bulb has to face directly backwards because the multiple bulbs are only bright from in front and nothing much comes out of the sides. The normal bulb can be mounted sideways on because it's a globe of course. But it does look like a bit of a rigmarole to fashion an adapter to make the holder face backwards at the vehicles behind you. I've kept mine as normal incandescent bulbs in the rear and put a brighter Halogen bulb in the headlamp. Setting it up in broad daylight is a bit of a hit-and-miss affair. |

SuperbrightLEDs sells a lot of 1157 LED bulbs which emit light at the sides.
http://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/t...r,1157,21,195: This particular bulb has a lot interesting applications. http://www.superbrightleds.com/morei...-pcb-lamp/175/

Interesting.
Those are similar to the one I used in my Polysport headlight on the YZ400F dual sport.

If you get the SMD style that light up all around the bulb, it should visible in the original tail light. The SMD's are brighter then the LED's. A least the ones I've seen in real life.
