CSC Luggage rack plate on the Hawk!

I liked their CSC rack and thought it would fit my Hawk and it does without issues!

Thank you! It held up to a 75 mile desert trail today where I laid the bike down at least three times. I'll be posting a video probably tomorrow.

The box is from Home Depot special order. It did not have any dividers like the one sold in the store. They even have a much taller box as well to order.

What size is the rack?

No info on the website. I'm looking at buying a .125" aluminum 12x12" plate from amazon for 17.66$ and just cutting my own holes. https://www.amazon.com/Online-Metal-...5%3A2470955011

As somebody who works with aluminum very often, I would recommend going with something a bit thicker than 11ga/1/8" if you want it to have any form of rigidity. Or have a frame that it bolts to.

Unless you have a way to stamp it to add some rigidity, I would suggest stepping up to at least 3/16/0.19" thickness, with 1/4" being ideal. That small little increase in thickness will make a huge difference.

Only about 3 bucks more for a .19" 12/12 plate. https://www.onlinemetals.com/merchan...=76&top_cat=60

1/4" thick is stepping over the $30 boundry. https://www.onlinemetals.com/merchan...=76&top_cat=60

I’d go for a quarter inch thickness.

A 1/4”, 0.25”, would be much better. Stronger and more durable!
A few dollars more, is worth it!
I also shaped and drilled my own top plate. Aluminum’s ease to work with makes this very easy.

All I can say is " HELL YEAH! " gotta have a rack. your bikes use has just increased 5 fold, I have few ideas you might like in future videos. I already ziptied a milk crate for a local yard sale...so much fun!

Musictrek, that CSC plate looks like a really good idea. The Apache waterproof case (like a Pelican case) from HF could be a good addition as well. It's a decent price at $29.99, and a coupon might be applicable.
