RE released a "Trial" version in the UK back in 2009. The press said "The Royal Enfield Trials EFI is rubbish and brilliant at the same time. Rubbish because it’s slow, under-braked and ill-handling – but brilliant because it offers a unique, charming, easy-going ride you won’t get with any other bike less than 30 years old."
I think that the "look" is O.K. but totally wrong front guard, tyres etc. One bit of mud and everything would clog-up.

X2 on the front mudguard; it's trouble waiting to happen.
Overall, it's a very good look. Something about the scrambler pipe is wrong to my eyes, but the seat, tank and tires are tasteful mods.

. . . and the sound is great. Big single "thump", not quite like a cast-iron fly-wheelled Velocette slooow thump, but getting there.

Kool. I hope Royal Enfield releases a scrambler soon. I saw an artist rendering of an Enfield 800cc twin ADV bike on Motorcycle.com. It looked similar to the trials bike below, but with 2 cylinders.

I like the looks of the 70's enduro's and would have bought one of several in the last month if they had electric starters on them. Around 2001 I bought a new bike and the dealer had just got the enfields in stock. I wished I had got one then, they were a whole lot less expensive in them days. What turned me off was the lack electric starters and the effort it took the salesman to get one kick started!

Agreed. I am no fan of the beaks found on some of the BMWs and Hondas.

Saw this Musket V-twin on Jay Leno's Garage. Industrial designer and all-around motorcycle savant Aniket Vardham has built a modern prototype version. I hope Royal Enfield produces the Musket Engine again.

Vardham is a cousin of our ex-IT guy at work. I shared a few videos of his original Musket build a few years ago. Amazing craftsmanship.

Here is a recent article on a Himalayan prototype. This version looks less "classic" and more ADV-ish.

I'd like to have the twin cyl engine from the red bike mounted in the chassis of the black bike picture below. It would be more freeway capable than the single cyl bike.
