interesting bike from Genuine Motorcycles

The article says the engine is made by Shineray. Looks pretty nice to me, and is a couple thousand dollars less than the Yamaha SR400.

Great looking bike. I really like the retro styling, and 400cc is a great size for all around street use including freeway commuting.

If that motor is xr400 based as someone else sugged, I want it in a modern chassis enduro bike ASAP! Even if its based on another air cooled Jap 400cc Thumper, I'd still like it.

I know SSR has a 450, but I'm pretty sure it's LC, I don't mind giving up a few HP for less parts to break on the trail. I'm also not a huge fan of the modern Japanese stlyle 4t MX engines, they can be quite expensive when things go wrong.

I like that bike a lot. It reminds me of my first motorcycle, a 1979 Honda CB400T. However, I like the single cylinder, and the Siemens fuel injection better on this motorcycle.

Since Genuine are designing bikes to be retro, I would like to see an old enduro style bike next. A 250 thumper. Low enough seat for beginners. Kind of like the same idea that CCW has been doing a few years now with their Heist, MIsfit, and Ace. Heck, if CCW built a retro enduro with their proprietary single, I would take it!

I borrowed that photo of the black, Hawk 400 from the internet. However, my bike looked exactly like that one. I had a lot of fun on that Honda Hawk, and looking at this Genuine G400C brings back good memories.

My best friend from grade school, through high school, had a blue Honda 400 Hawk. He later sold it to his sister. He passed away about 5 years ago now.

Here is the 400 Hawk model that I liked best:

My goodness, except for the red stripes, that is the bike I owned. I had a 1979 Honda Hawk II, with the Comstar wheels. I didn't notice the spoked wheels on the previous photo I posted. Once again, I borrowed the following photograph from the internet.
