Straight pipe?

Hey guys i have a rhino 250d i made a post a few weeks ago about my wheels litterally ripping off so it took a while but i got a really good deal on some brand new take offs from a grizzly 12 inch wheels with brand new maxxis tires for 80 bucks .the problem is the wheels are bigger and they rub on the muffler . I took it off and ran for a little bit and it sounds waaaaay better now but i looked up online and people comment that engines blow up and there is loss of power bla bla bla. Would it be a problem ?

Out here in the fire prone west it’s mandatory to have a (muffler) spark arrestor for obvious reasons. Personally I am past the days of overly loud exhausts and the additional ringing of the ears at the end of the day.

As long as you get the jetting right it won't hurt the engine, just the ears of everyone nearby.

I always thought the spark arrestor was the screen over the exit of the muffler. Like the OP I thought a certain amount of back pressure was necessary for things to be right. I guess the jetting compensates the issue of the free flow.... I can see that.

LOL I'm 2 for 2 at a loss... still got some learnin to do.

It is the screen on the muffler, which he took off so no spark arrester. 1 for 2!
