Head Scratching Jetmoto / Tao Tao 110 ATV. Cranks, won't start. HELP!!

I have an 8 year old Jetmot 110 ATV. Very little use, but had a good solid week of frequent use right before this issue. My daughter was riding it a LOT and I had to jump start it each time b/c the battery was a weenie. A week or so ago I put in a new battery. Which is when the problem started.

Two quick successful starts in and the motor won't start now. It turns over. It will turn over forever -
but won't start. Even though I can get the old spark plug to readily shoot sparks to the engine, I put in a new spark plug. I replaced the carburetor. But it won't start.

I took off the air filter and every 4th cycle (when starting) it kicks out fluid (gas) through the air intake. It sounds like it WANTS to fire - but never gives a pop to let you think it might turn over on its own.

I keep the hand brake on. I try with the choke fully engaged.

Like I said, I can see the sparking. Don't know what the new battery might have fried. I'm only aware of one fuse - and check it routinely.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions. Thanks!!

Have you adjusted the valves? If you have spark and gas your almost there.

I haven't made an attempt on the valves yet. It went so fast from running perfectly to not starting (in about 3 minutes) that I thought it was an electrical or fuel issue. Can the valves go akimbo that fast?

valves

you use adjust the valves anyways... it is maintence work.. it is the easiest thing in this case..... gas splits back out???? compression from the motor doing it...... gas will not suck in.... compression blowing it back..... no gas on plug.... none getting there.. these are all signs... adjust the valves.. it will let you know for sure.... check compression as well... should blow your finger off.. good... not like a little fart...
