I find it kind of scary that they are telling you the price buts it's obviously not in stock yet and then they say in the description is "real price to be determined "

Do they not have cameras and sales in china ?

Do they not have even estimated arrival dates ?

I guess if they get lots of orders then the real price is whatever they think they can (stick it to you ) charge and if most sensible people say no way jose i'll wait to see actual photos of it on the shop floor then the price might be $1799 which i think is very reasonable for the bike .

I would most certainly consider one at that price.

What I don't like is that it will allow you to place the order even though it's not in stock. If someone doesn't realize it's not in stock and orders it TXpowersports will have their money and you will be waiting months before you will get it. Then getting your money back will be a battle.

I used that little check box that comes up and asked what the eta was and then they answered end of February , that seems ok. Next i asked about the price accuracy and they sent this back "Yes, $1799 is just an imaginary price. Once it will reach here. We will update the price on our website."

Are you all as worried as me ?

So if you actually went through the process of buying it now for $1799 wouldn't that technically lock in the price no matter how much they jack it up? I'd be worried.
Edit: Make sure to read the terms and conditions. https://www.txpowersports.com/Articles.asp?ID=4
This one really scares me.

It's strait up unethical salesman ship. To offer an item for sale and an open ended delivery date. Let this show as the lack of concern for the customers.

I don't like it. Customer is the only party here to get burned.

This is the difference between them and CSC. CSC has a security deposit on upcoming models and their rules with the deposit are fair and clearly stated. They also give constant updates if there are any possible changes to delivery date or any changes to the bike.

Nope, IF I were going to buy one of these (big IF) I would wait until they were available before even considering placing an order, and honestly I would likely buy from another company.

Does anyone know for sure if it will have a 249cc engine ?(ohc?) what about a 5 speed or ideally a 6 speed or will they just do an efi on the current 229.

If csc could do a 6 speed 249 efi that would be nice.

I guess most people are blinded by the price but i must say this txps is really looking to be a shady dealer. I too will hold out and see if someone else can do it in a more upfront and professional way.

I bought my Hawk from TXPowersports many moons ago. What a fiasco that was. I won't ever buy anything from them again. EVER. They did a good job getting me the bike, I have to say that much, but once the crate hit the ground at my place, forget about anything even remotely resembling customer service. They can turn into a smoldering crater in the ground and I wouldn't lose a wink of sleep over it.

I had a Jialing 223cc OHC 6 speed oil cooled and was a very nice bike.
The first owner did 25000Km all over China on it and just a few minor issues, the bike is still kicking around today.

The retail on that was US$2100 plug on road in China

the TXP bike is sporting the 229cc CG250 motor

Belmonte bikes is legendary for this type of gimmicks. They state that's in stock under the bike but way down in the description it says ship date is in 2 months.By paying up front they get the benefit of ordering a whole container of bikes.
