Templar VIN numbers don't start with LI they start with L1 the number 1.

I went out in my cold garage to go through my workbench for my paperwork, and there is L, the number 1 and then the rest of the VIN is all alphanumeric (numbers and letters not including any Q's or I's in it) and 17 digits long.

Edit: the MSO photo above is harder to read in the photograph, the Bill of Sale shows L and number 1 after it.

Here I scanned my MSO in, clearly it is a Serif Font number 1, the same exact print as both 1's in the date above.

Thats definitely not a valid VIN number. I would contact PowerSportsMax. The other issue will be the VIN is also engraved on the bike so any updated MCO won't help unless they match.

Edit: Added the pattern I have below. All models should match the starting sequence. If not, it might indicate the model of bike you have is different or some funny business with VINs is going on.

Here is the VIN decoder template:

Based on that all of us should have the same starting sequence for the exact same model of bike built the exact same year. If we are all different then something funny is going on.

L1 U GCNLB 4 N A XXXXXX

Where the X's are the actual serial numbers.

N being 1992/2022/2052 etc.

Not adding the security digit decode, those who want to go through the algorithm to see if its valid:

Edit: I found an online check digit calculator at NHTSA, I ran my VIN through and the check digit on my VIN is correct:

Both bikes are labeled as off-highway use. Both bikes have all the same equipment. I was able to get my son's bike to 55 with me on it, so it shouldn't be categorized as low speed. I spent quite a bit of time looking at the state laws last night and haven't found anything specific that said the NHTSA label is required for street use.

I know my exwifes parents had a 1970's yamaha at1 125cc enduro that was licensed.
Do you have a local Notary/tag shop near you. We have them here and makes it so much easier than going to the actual DMV. The Notary/Tag shop well take there time and put some effort into getting you registered and tagged because that's how they make there money. I've never had ant issues getting plated with them. The DMV is a total pain. I rather pay the extra fee the shop charges and be in and out in 15-20 minutes.

Just walked out of the county courthouse here in Mississippi. No problem at all getting my Templar X registered and plated. At $245 it was a little more expensive than I expected. But oh well. Got insurance through State Farm. Full coverage is $8 and change per month. I really hope they get you sorted out JC.

Wish you luck. You might open the doors for others once it's in the system.

Here is the main website, with no underlying long weblink attached.

https://vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov/decoder/

I get this error message when I input either of my Temp X VINs:

Error Text: 7 - Manufacturer is not registered with NHTSA for sale or importation in the U.S. for use on U.S roads; Please contact the manufacturer directly for more information

That is a serious problem. Can you take a photo of the VIN plate with Js instead of Is? I am assuming that it is correct on the VIN plate itself.

I know it is a pain in the neck, but Zora generally makes things happen with photographic evidence.
