First question. What is your altitude?

The 20 pilot and 100 main are too small for the CG250 (and likely the CG200 too). Just to clarify. I know you don't have a Hawk, but the engines are close enough in displacement and power that the Hawk jetting should be a good place to start from. I would suggest starting with a 25 pilot and 105 or 110 main jet. You may have to adjust from there, but it should get you close.

Also, did you check that the float level was correct? With the carb upside down, the top of the bowl should be even with the bottom flange.

It's a 200cc, sea level 2006 rocketa . I believe it's a zong , and it is ohc.knowing that the 250s responded well with this carb, my thought was that the 20/100 would be very close for a 200.

It may be 200cc but it's ,not too far off in terms of power to the 167fmm in the Hawks. The jetting may not be the same, but it shouldn't be too far off. Lets call it 1 size smaller on both. So The 20 pilot may be close for you. I know that 2 turns on the mixture screw with a 20 pilot works ok with the Hawks, so likely it's too rich on your engine. Maybe back off the fuel on the idle mixture to 1.5 turns out and see how it behaves.

The main may be okay as well. Once you can get the idle sorted, then you can look at the main jet sizing. If the 100 is a bit lean, try a 105.

So i had alittle time today. Turned the idle mix back to 1 and 1/4. I got closer to a steadi idle. And the idle adj screw is actually doing ng something now. I felt that the idle mix screw was way too easy to turn, so in my box of carb trix, I found a spring with same dia of coils, but one coil longer.
So i gor it to idle lower thistime, but its still surging. Tomorrow i will check the valves again. When i did them a cew weeks ago, i found it was quite cumbersome to do the intake valve. But if this is the prob, i will check again tomorrow to eliminate a tight valve.

Sounds like you are getting close now. Just a little tweaking and fine tuning.

The yellow cafe style bike is a buddies. Mine is what I like to call a retro streetfighter.

The Goldwing carbs are actually very easy to tune and balanve. Honda designed them to work as a joined pair. The catch to that is that they are much more internally complicated and prone to running issues from even the slightest vit of dirt or varnish.

SO after fiddling and adjusting, I ordered a 22, 25, and 27.5 pilot. I know you (megadan) said you run a 27.5 in your 250, but i do plan on opening the exhaust, I already have a uni foam long filter, so im halfway there anyway.
I have a 20 pilot right now, but, the idle just isnt steady. Also, i used a piece of clear tubing on the bowl drain to see just how far up the gas is in the bowl. It went past the bowl seam. So that contributes to strange behavior. I gleaned from y’all that the vm26 should be set at 21mm. Please confirm.
Just waiting on jets now.
Btw, dont take apart one of these gas caps. Its the new version of chinese finger puzzle. I wanted to see if it was the vents were blocked because the bike would run for a minute, then die. There is two vents plugged with balls and springs, i drilled them out. Of course if i dump the bike with a full tank it will spill out, but the orifice is so small any leakeage would be minimal
I also recently added a rear fender i had laying around. Some sort of triumph. Don’t tell those guys. It was a original, not a repop
So thats the update, just waiting for jets.

Got my jets in!!

Wrong style jets. They look identical online, but when i screw it in it stopped half way. The air bleed part is a bit bigger, i almost snapped it off. The bleed holes were crushed. So beings that the one i ruined was a 22.5, I grabbed the biggest bit that would fit in the new wrong jet and put it in my pin vise and drilled my 20. At one and a half out i have to have the choke half out, and the idle all the way in to run it. At these adjustments, it’s running off the pilot. I tried to open the mix screw more while it was running, i have one of those flexible multi bit screwdriver, but i just cant get it to turn. The angle i have to get the driver straight puts too many bends in the flexible part of the driver. Frustrated, i gave up. Last week I ordered a extended mix screw from chine. I can do nothing more untill that gets here. The old pilot i drilled maybe in the range of 22.5&25. So i think it just comes down to the idle mix.
Thank god i got the starter working. Its not wired to the bike. I run jumper cables off a deep cylce. Unless y’all know what else i can try at this point, im waiting on the slow boat from china.
