If the donor van was in good enough condition you could just swap the rear ends

I the donar van has been in a wreck. I don't know how good the body is. From farther north so rust may be an issue. Also my Dad does not want a conversion van. He wants the windowless cargo van so that he can hide his computer and cameras better.

This donar has a TBI 350. 210hp 300lbft of tq. Looks like the only thing I need to get separately is another ecm for a manual trans or a pre 92 ecm for a 350. The 95 van has a 4L60e transmission so it is computer controlled.

The rest should bolt in. His 88 has a TBI 4.3 V6 with about 5hp left.

I got the cash in my pocket. If the van is truly nice I may consider fixing it for myself and finding another donar.

Have no pictures of it. Don't even know the color. Just know that is has a 350, leather, new rear axle seals, brakes, and tires. New radiator, new timing set, and a new waterpump.

That's a good, strong trans; it's not as bullet-proof as a 4L80E, but it would certainly meet your towing needs.

Sounds like a good rig. I like vans, I'm always on the lookout for a cheap camper van but haven't bought one yet

Made it back. The van runs great. Rear end is noisy. The front is bent up and alot of the interior stuff is broken.

The cargo van is in better shape.

Compared to the V6 this thing is fast. Going to be fun with it hooked up to the manual transmission.

Radio didn't work, but it did have some mix CD in that I think was made in 1995 too.

The van looks pretty good Kato! You can probably take what you need for your dad's cargo van and part the rest of it out to recoup some of the cost's. Chevy's never die

I plan to sell off what we don't need. The body will be worth about half the cost in scrap.

The rear seat I will sell off. It is power up and down. He does not have AC, but we may look into swapping it over if I can confirm that it works. There is a vacuum leak in the dash that is playing havoc with the climate controls.

The transmission should sell easy. It was just serviced and works great. Possibly those rear windows. The wheels and tires are going on his van. The front seats are going in his van. His seats will become chairs in the shop. I may try to install that headliner in his van.

Until I get a couple more items out of the shed we will be using it as scaffolding to pick apples.
