My Experience with Tx Powersports

I just received my Hawk 250 on Friday from Tx Powersports. All in all, it's an inexpensive Chinese motorcycle, so I don't expect the quality of a high end bike like KTM. Here's my list of problems: the front tire was mounted wrong, one tank cover was scratched up, both rear handgrips (armrest) are scratched but one of the handgrips has a broken tab, and the seat has a small hole.

The front tire is a directional tire and they mounted it backwards. I didn't think that you could have a "Directional Knobby", and I guess the person mounting the tire didn't either!

I'm still waiting on the MCO/MSO. I'm going to email Tx Powersports and see if they will assist me. I will/post my results.

See you on the trails,

did they do your assembly, or it came in a crate 75% done? I would suspect the tire install was from china that way. mine was 75% done (which is how they come over on the boat) and the front tire was already installed.

Mine had a few shipping scratches as well. those look pretty significant though. can you take some pics from farther back to give more perspective to location, etc?

I'm glad you got the bike, but sorry it has so many scratches. Lets see how the "manny" handles your problem. New seat and new plastics is in order. If he don't respond, PM Adam Rinkleff her on the forum. I'll bet he fixes you right up. On the bright side, you can put in a GOOD quality tube when you remount the front tire.

Did you hear anything about your warranty issues? I had two problems and TX Powersports referred my claim to RPS. Hopefully we will have some good results.
I just checked and my front tire is mounted with the direction wrong also.

Update

I received the MCO and bill of sale today. I emailed Tx Powersports about the problems with my Hawk. Tx Powersports requested pictures of the problems. I emailed them the pictures and they forwarded them on to Ricky Power Sports. That was on the 1st of March. On the 2nd of March, Marcus, from RPS, requested pictures of the problems. I sent them that day. I haven't heard anything since then. I'll update again when I have news.

Tx Powersports Update!

I received a package from Ricky Powersports today via UPS! It contained 1 tank cover and 1 grab handle. There was no invoice, paper or note explaining anything, but I got the parts that mattered most. The only other items not addressed was the front tire mounted backwards and the small hole in the seat.

I figured I could use some vinyl repair kit on the seat or send it to Sargents out of Jacksonville, Florida.

As for the front "directional" knobby tire, should I have it remounted correctly or do you think it will even matter?

See you on the trails,
Dan-O

I'm two days behind you on my warranty claim. It may actually show up one day. Having read your earlier post on the tire, I went out and looked at mine. Yep, backwards also. I just pulled it down and flipped it over. About a half hour in all. It comes off easy and goes back on easy. Talc the tube well so it will slide in well.

I got my warranty start button today! So I'm all done with the dealer stuff. The tire does not look like the direction matters. It does have that arrow on the side though. I started out using metal tire tools but that was too much so I switched to some old bicycle tire tools made of plastic to finish. Made some rim protectors from a cut up 2 ltr. Pepsi bottle. Back tire may be harder to do.

Do you have a picture of the wheel mounted on the bike? I'm confused because my Hawk didn't have didn't grooves on the side knobs or the directional arrow.

I marked the arrow with a silver marker so I wouldn't put it back on wrong again.
