Sadly using iPad I never see the bigger image you posted . All I see is attachment screen , no multi pix option . I can load 3 at a time , but always only one shows up under attachment . I have no other option to chose from with apple software apperently . Been battling this since day one with vertiscope forums . I am a moderator on the gl1800riders site even. I have contacted tapatalk to see if they will support this forum. I can load 8 pix at a time that way. Al I need is anybody's email and I will send them all the air box mod pix they will ever want . I am a pix whore

Perfect. With the iPad, just download Photobucket. All it is, is an image hosting site, so you can load as many pics as you want. Email me them, and I'll post em here from my Photobucket.

A school of thought on break-in that made sense to me when I learned about it.

Think of a freshly honed cylinder as a file and the rings as a work piece. Since the cylinder is a slightly softer material than the rings, the honing will wear smooth and the ring will wear to match the cylinder closely, giving you a good break in.

Under light loads, the rings do not get pushed into the cylinder as hard as under throttle. But you also don't want to just go WOT all the time either, so the trick is to vary throttle. On load your rings will push into the cylinder, wearing in and match the cylinder properly, while letting them rest on a closed throttle briefly lets the oil come in and cool the rings, wash away the tiny chips from the cylinder and rings.

When riding around if you are out in open area, just come up and down 10 mph, mixed in with regular riding. Its much easier to do this method in an urban environment since you are constantly on and off the throttle. Change your oil a few times within 500 miles and you should be golden.

Pod Filter

Is that a stock carb? I have the VM26 and I am looking to do this mod also. I just need to know which pod filter to buy. I've seen people with a 44mm I.D. & 43MM...Is this the one to purchase? Does it need to be angled? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...iglink28144-20 or https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...iglink28144-20

I wasn't thinking that you could keep the stock air box, and run like a pvc pipe to the box, through it, and put a Uni filter on the end of the pvc pipe, that's inside the air box. Or find a radiator hose that fits over the carb, and is angled the right way to run it to the air box, and again, put a Uni filter on the end of the radiator hose, inside the air box. Should work either way

It's the first link you posted and he does have the stock carb on the bike. I decided to go with a K & N drop in filter and never used my Uni filter. That is also the Mikuni VM26 copy carburetor in my picture.

Thanks for posting pix . Mine is a 44mm bit wished I would have ordered a 43 . It's angled just enough to clear plastic side cover , kinda. Stock carb , rejetted and shimmed needle . Works like a champ ! Water is a no issue as I rode in rain half a day day after I installed this . Deep water it will not work , but if ya keep it oiled it will work in an amazing amount of rain , as it has done so on my many atv's and bikes in the past .

The lip isn't as thick as the stock filter so I used some plastic weather stripping on the bottom of the hold down bracket. I have pictures if you want to see them.

theres a reasion they put such big air boxes in a bike when they are
limited for room.... even then they are two small... A free air space for the motor
to draw from... a air clean hanging off the carb resticts & slows the air flow &
is prone to socking up fuel and riching the mixture...
