These bikes are like fine wine. They only get better with age. lol . But seriously once these engines are broke in, geared and tuned right you will love it even more. I know I've said this before but you have to think of these bikes as kits and customizing to your liking. That's what makes them so nice. I was adding up what I have invested in mine over the weekend. Excluding gas, oil and insurance. I have just under $1500 tied up in it including TT&L.

Yeah. It's not much different than owning a jeep lol always a ton of things I want to buy/install/modify to make it better lol. Just wish I got the bike when I was working more overtime so I can afford the stuff without going broke lol. This website is a dangerous place. The more free time I have to look it over the more things I find that are awesome and want to buy lol.

One good thing about these bikes is that the parts are a lot cheaper.

LOL, I know what you mean. Last couple of years it's been tight around here. You just have to be a "Cheap Bastard" like me and make due with what you got. I saved the $130 on exhaust and just gutted the cat out of stock exhaust. Saved another $35 and rejected the stock carb. Cleaned and lubed up the stock chain and made it last until I really need to swap it out. The biggest money item was the Digital cluster but that was well worth the money. If I had the extra money I would of probably spent the money on exhaust and carb but I achieved the same results with the stock equipment. Good news is work has really picked up here and even managed to get a nice raise so I guess I'll start spending some money on tires. either Kenda K270's or Shinko's 700.

Yeah I'm going to tackle the exhaust this weekend. Going to gut the stock cat. What s the sense of buying a new exhaust when I own a welder ? Lol. And you'll never know because in going ti wrap the exhaust once I re weld it lol.

If you cut it on each side of the cat and get a section of pipe the same size will be a lot easier than trying to remove the guts. That stuff is hell getting out. Tack weld a piece of scrap metal to it before you cut it that way everything stays lined up and put a new section of pipe.

You wouldn't happen to know the id/od of the stock pipe offhand would you ? Lol. I have some pipe at my job I could grab a piece of. I'm going to try and cut the cat in half and see how it goes. If it doesnt work out than I'll just replace the section where the cat is.

Haha. I'll just start cutting it up and if it doesnt work out I'll bring it to work and make it here on my break lol. The cat was really that difficult to remove?

Yep, It's pack real tight in there and not sure what they used to glue it in there because it took me at least a half hour non-stop just to get it out. Hopefully yours is not that bad.

Nope. It's not like an automobile cat that you can break up and remove. It's a corrugated type of metal very tightly wrapped.

Would the Stock Speedo or the digital one work with ninja 250 wheels? Could I have it 'recalibrated so to speak?

The stock one no, the digital can be switched between 21" and 19".

its the devil to get out even after you've opened it up. best to cut it out and insert new pipe. making a door and bending it back down after removal and then welding is a bugger cause the steel is low alloy or something that hell to weld. i chased holes for a while and gave up and bought a ss aftermarket exhaust.
