Tao Tao 110cc help

I just got my son a 110cc Tao Tao to learn on. He's been riding it for about a week and I was going to change oil in it. Do these actually have an oil filter on them? Also is there anything else I should check for after initial breakin period? Also is there any kind of clutch adjustment? I turned down the throttle so its real slow for him but once he stops and trys to go again he needs a little push to help it get going. If I back the screw out on throttle it takes off fine but then it also gets to running a little to fast for him.
Thanks

Welcome. No oil filter.

Is this the model with just a forward gear or does it have forward/neutral/reverse?

There's a little screen you should clean out every few oil changes, but I wouldn't really worry about it.

Check all your nuts and bolts...make sure the castles on the wheels are pinned and that everything is tight.

Centrifugal clutches work via weight...it uses engine RPM to engage said engine to the transmission. If the engine isn't turning very fast, you're not going to get a strong engagement...thus having to give it a little extra push to get going.

The best way to combat this in my experience is with a bigger rear sprocket (or smaller front). You might try going down a couple teeth in front, or going up 10 in the rear. This will let you adjust his throttle out without him getting away from you.

Keep in mind that if you do go to a bigger rear sprocket you will need more chain.

Recommended oil is Motorcycle/ATV oil... Cooler weather 10w40, Hotter weather over 60, 20w50. That engine will take just under 1 qt.
