Lifan brake question?

I won't have my bike til' tomorrow or the next day but I have to ask, on the 06 GY-5 the front brake looks like they have a small cylinder, looks like a CO2 cartridge connected to the caliper housing.. Has anyone had an issue with this? It looks like it could be ripped right off during a trail ride in some brush or something? Is there a way to omit this or does it serve a specific purpose? I've never seen a disc brake setup like that and am just curious...

its a dampening valve, to keep you from locking up your brakes. if you hook direct to the caliper, fluid pressure will flow in the direction of gravity and lock up the caliper. My CBR600 had a similar set up on the rear brakes. You can say its just like an ABS system.

Thanks Jet, that's what I thought it was, still looks like it might get ripped off during a log crossing, makes sense on a street bike.. Any idea if there are guards for them or am I just being over cautious? Think I asked before, you do have a regular shift pattern right? Thanks Bro

Bruce at EJCycles told me it was a Nitrous Oxide Bottle for speed braking...
