TT250 owners - Question.

Honestly, this could be answered by anybody that knows. Is the TT250 Ignition/CDI AC or DC? I am looking at ways to upgrade the charging capacity of my Hawk, so I am contemplating simply using the Stator setup from the TT250 since it is a lovely 300 watts. However, I do know that many other stators on the market require a switch to DC, and it would be nice to know before I commit.

I already perused most of CSC's articles on the TT250. That tells me how to test a charging system, but does not mention if the CDI operates on AC or DC Voltage. It just explains how to test a stator and reg/rec unit.

You could always call Gerry at CSC. He's the Service Manager and is a wealth of information. When my exciter coil went bad on my TT 250 he was very helpful in helping me with the troubleshooting and getting it back on the road.

Welcome to China Riders! I don't know where you can get a set of plastics for your Hawk. Your post could get buried in this thread. Others would better be able to help you if you created your own separate thread.

:-)
