Yep,it's installed correctly.

So,I changed my oil and for at least the second time my oil looks watery thin.

I had suspected my injector but now I'm beginning to believe it.

Seems like I remember somebody having replaced their injector but I think
Their problem was hard starting....I don't have that problem.



I think I have a dribbling injector that can't quite cut off when it's supposed to.
I can kinda relate to that being a 1956 model

But heh this a 2015 model and I think I will give Gerry a call at CSC today to see
If I can get an injector sent to me.

I mean there is no way that vent tube should be filling up every 50 miles
And now 2 oil changes confirms it.

BTW my bike has 4600 miles

FWIW my engine number is 48.pretty early on.

The only way I know of for fuel to get in the crankcase is by the rings.
I never have noticed any fuel vapors coming out of my exhaust and I guess
I should look at my spark plug but I'm convinced I have a dribbling injector.

I just hope after a couple thousand miles or more of this going on that It
Hasn't washed the cylinders to where my rings aren't sealing as well.

My gas mileage has not been great as I'm only getting around 55 mpg at 1000 ft.above sea level.

Just talked to Gerry at CSC and he told me that it could be an injector but he would be surprised if it was.

He told me to do a fuel pump pressure leak down test and report my findings.

That is normal.

Filling the tube up every 50 miles of hi-way riding....probably not.

One thing to remember,if you live in a high humidity area you will see more fluid in your tube.
And of course less in say,the desert.

Yes, that's normal. The oil contaminant separator (OCS) is there to remove fuel and water from the crankcase oil.

You have a definite problem, amigo. I know you had fuel in you last oil sample. Have you sent a second oil sample to Blackstone for testing? When you have time, I would encourage you to perform the leak down test suggested by Gerry.

Yeah, I definitely collect more at high RPMs. But that's still less fuel in the overflow than you're seeing ... about half a tube after my 40 mile commute.

I was hoping the new engine would collect less than my original, but it's the same as before.

I saw some earlier posts about the fuel/oil separator being installed upside down from the factory. My '16 would appear to be upside down based on the photos shown. Has anyone contacted CSC to verify the correct orientation? I hate to blindly change something like that based on forum gossip....and if it is wrong how come the factory is still doing it wrong?

FWIW, I have had to drain about 2" (measured in the tube) of water/fuel out of my clear tube...250 miles on the bike. I'll go 350-400 miles in the next couple days. That will take me well beyond 'break-in' so I can see if this is a problem or just where I boiled off any moisture from shipping the bike.

I you like, I encourage you to call CSC regarding this matter. However, we have proved from experience, and logic, the correct orientation of the oil contaminant separator (OCS). We squelch gossip on these forums, and diligently seek the truth.

You aren't draining a lot of contaminants from the OCS. However, if you flip the OCS to the correct orientation, you will burn more of the fuel removed from the crankcase, and have less fuel collected in the OCS. The amount of condensed water vapor in the OCS should remain the same.

The Chinese obviously employ some unskilled workers on the assembly line for the simple installation of the OCS, and they don't realize the proper orientation. Even though Zongshen has a strong commitment to quality control, a simple mistake like this is still not uncommon for most Chinese motorcycles. Just flip the OCS to the proper orientation, and you will see good results. It's not a difficult job.

I just don't recall Joe or anyone else mentioning this issue in the 5@8 book or any of the video interviews.... Is it across the board or an intermittent issue?
