Looking for a CT70 knock off...

Hi!

I am looking for a Honda CT70 like mini. had one 'back in the day' which was the begini f of a long series of bikes.

Saw some posts about a $1000 sale, but can't seem to connect.

Location, Puget Sound, WA. Used (good condition) is ok.

Please post or pm me here.

Thanks,

Dave

There are a few sub-$1k online dealers discussed on this thread on mychinamoto:

http://www.mychinamoto.com/forums/sh...da-CT70-Clones

Here is one of the dealers which someone used and had luck with:
http://www.powersportsmax.com/produc...ducts_id/17529
Factor in a couple hundred for shipping

I think there is one or two more dealers with similar prices--heck, they might even be the same dealer?

Not as good a deal, but these guys might price match--keep in mind, these are made by the same factory, Skyteam, so don't let anyone claim theirs are better.

Power sport max listed above has always been the cheapest I've ever seen.

Member 'barnone' is our resident expert on these by default, since he just recently bought 3 clones, including a CT70 clone from powersportsmax, a z50 clone from maybe the same place, and a z50 replica with a sidecar from another place. He is on the mychinamoto.com link as well. He has several posts here, too, but the mychinamoto thread has the most information. There is a guy from the UK on that thread who owns a Lifan 110cc CT70 clone which were also available here, in the US; if you come across one of those for low dollars, it would be worth the purchase IMO, but don't pay more than the powersportmax offer of about $1060 to your door for any of these!

Sorry 'Black Death'--you are an expert as well with all of your bikes (although those are technically z50 replicas if my memory serves me!

It's all good, I used to own a 70s honda ct70 but got rid of it many years back and regret it 100% as I've always been a z50 freak....
From what I've read, but don't quote me, the lifan is a pretty quality built ct70 clone when they were made years back.
My z50 clones have the same engine as the skyteam ct70s listed, 125cc Loncin engine.
The wiring is about the same on the new clones also.

These might sell the Skyteam replica, although the other replicas they sell, the z50 replicas, appear to be the other brand out there, Ice Bear. But the description mentions 'Loncin engine' although the Ice Bear bikes might use the same engine as the Sky Team.

My complaint about Ice Bear is when I find them for sale, they always seem to cost more than the Skyteam manufactured bikes. I am fairly certain Ice Bear is their own manufacturer, not a re-label.

The SKU suggests a Skyteam bike, so I guess you roll your dice and see which brand they send you Obviously their prices are a little more than the the Skyteam bikes from Powersportsmax http://www.megamotormadness.com/prod...cc-street-bike

That website you posted lists the engines with semi auto clutches...
I always wondered where the people found the semi auto clutch clones from.
That's the website... All others I've seen are clutch engines.
Now I don't know if semi auto or clutch style is faster or the top speed is the same.
I do like the control on the right side as it shows you can turn your lights off, just turn on the parking lights or turn all lights on.

Ok, never really looked too closely at the specs, but it seems that Ice Bear deal in semi-clutch while the Skyteam bikes are full manual.

http://www.icebearatv.com/Monkey-Series14

Come to think of it, I had called Ice Bear a few months ago, and the (quite rude) woman who kept telling me "we don't sell retail" finally, after asking who is a dealer for them, finally did steer me to the 'megamotormadness' site--my guess is, like my theory of 'powersportsmax' being a retail dealer for Roketa (the wholesaler), megamotormadness is the retail site for Ice Bear.

Member 'Barnone' got his z50 Ice Bear sidecar from another site, however, which he mentions somewhere on mychinamoto, unless he stated it here, too, on one of his monkey bike threads.

I think the Ice Bear bikes are probably the same quality as the Skyteam bikes, but it seems like they always ask a premium over Skyteam bikes.

Here is one place with the CT70 replicas from Ice Bear that is very comparable to Skyteam in price (price includes shipping)
