Wonderfully done, young lady. You're evolving from a Sprite to a Moto-Sorceress!

Paper clips and wig pins are always to be found in my tool box for just that purpose. You have conquered a "non-normal" electrical problem that many folks would simply give up on and have a dealer take care of, quite likely for $200-300, if not more. At your leisure you can learn solder splicing then apply it to the repaired area. One step above that is to get the correct pins and make a replacement wire to have it all appear as if it never happened.

BTW, did you make any new riding friends at the BRC2?

Nice work, Sprite. You earned bonus points with the photograph of your dirty hand.

Thanks for posting the update.

Thanks Gents. It is very much a feeling of accomplishment to be able to successfully diagnose and repair the motorcycle, even though I was relying heavily on Gerry's direction. It is also helping me build confidence in doing repairs on the bike myself, though there is still tons to learn. I also appreciate all your patience here on this forum and the willingness to help by posting tutorials and answering questions.

Jay, didn't really make any new riding friends at BRC2 - the class was a lot smaller than usual (6 students total including myself). 4 were riding cruisers and the last had a Dualsport (1200GS) - we talked up bikes, but didn't talk good riding places so much. I suspect my relative inexperience might be a bit of a deterrent. *sigh*
