jetting and altitude

I live at about 600-700 feet and the hills and back roads around here extend up to around 1400 feet, I've already installed the air filter and moved the clip down to bottom. I currently have a 115 jet which I was planning on putting in. What do you guys think about it?

btw I noticed that my stock air box already had a couple of 3/4 inch holes drilled in the top. I saved the filter and everything so I can install it before I go riding in dust. If all goes well I plan to attend the rumble on the ridge on april 5th with a friend of mine.

Stock jetting will be fine at that elevation.

I have been from 900-4000ft on one trip with no problems.

But will it be of any benefit to install the 115? I guess I will just have to do the throttle chop thing and then pull over and check the plug.

No, don't change to a bigger jet. Higher elevations need LESS fuel, not more.

But red, would I not get a boost in acceleration when merging onto the highway? I have short highway sections I have to use to get around occasionally and merging scares the crap out of me most of the time (yeh i know im still a newb).

jets

Higher elavatin means less air, then this means less fuel is required to maintain the 14 to 1. Smaller jets mean less fuel. Generally 2000 feet is the first jet change elevation. I'm at 3500 too. have ordered a lf200gy too! We'll see how it runs when it arrives.
