What about the swingarm bearings? Don't they need the same service? You didn't mention them nor did the first video (haven't watch the second)

Yes, the swingarm bearings definitely need the same service. If I don't post a thread first, perhaps you, or someone else can post one.

I neglected to take any photos with the rear swing arm out but yes the service is the same as the needle bearings on the linkage bits. Also it's a lot easier if you disconnect the rear brake hose mounted to swing arm first. I hung the the rear caliper from the passager foot peg with a wire tie. I'm glad I checked it as the bearings were quite dry. I'll try to remember to post pics when I do the head stock bearings. Right now I'm struggling with the puzzle that is getting the top bolt in place for the new progressive shock...

Yes, basically you remove the rear tire, then remove the lower shock linkage. Then, after disconnecting the rear brake hose, you pull the swingarm bolt. After the swingarm is removed, you can clean and grease the bearings in the swingarm.

Addition to control center

Garmin 600, Amps/Ram mount. Love the bright Garmin display. Have the same mount on my RT so I can move the GPS easily between bikes. Connected the power to AC1 so I can switch the power off if I am just moving the bike and don't want to power up the GPS.

Today was shop day with the bike. I backed off the preload on the Progressive Suspension shock, now it's just finger tight against the spring. Next, took off the mask covering the indicator lights on the dash...that has the lights so darn dim. I also trimmed the plastic housing on the right 'wing' where the USB outlet lives. Now I have much better access to one of the windshield mount bolts. Finally, switched out the 12V cigarette lighter outlet for a Powerlet one. The Powerlet unit is a smaller diameter so I got to spend some quality time with the lathe, machining a pair of adapters. This was also a good time to coat the electrical connections with DeOxit. Tomorrow I'll measure the sag at the rear. I'll also fab up a mount for my Garmin GPS. All this is in prep for a trip to Horizon's Unlimited in Appomattox, Virginia next weekend. I bet I'll have the only Zong there!

Did mine's first oil change, at 350 mi. Then I wired some some aux fog lights

Checked and greased swing arm axle bearings. Axle was dry, bearings had a little bit of grease. No rust and no needles flying everywhere. Packed with waterproof grease and good to go. Two hours top.

Lots of dead ends today

Today was the day to mount my GPS....Oh I have a few different models, some long gone. The mounts I just got were for a model I no longer have...my bad. Next, when I tried to install a pair of horns I found that the factory had installed the horn in a place where nothing else would fit. There's no chance my pair of aftermarket horns will go there. Now for plan B. Finally, I dredged up a bit of scrap aluminum and made a side stand foot (had to salvage the day somehow).
That's 1/2" aluminum for the foot and thinner stock to lock it into place.

installed it's still a bit clunky but certainly gives more purchase than the stock foot.
The next project is to install a fuze block so I can wire up heated gear and other stuff. I just found that the two Aux leads that are wired into the wiring harness are individually switched...in other words, you can use #1 or #2 but not both. CSC wires the aux LED lights to #2 so #1 is pretty useless unless you have some special farkle to use without running the aux lights.

Oil was visually clean, felt bad doing an oil change haha. The magnetic drain plug picked up a good bit of tiny filings.
