Thank you. It is what it is, as much as it hurts me. I would rather they were distracted stealing my cheap bike than any of my coworkers much nicer and more expensive bikes, including an XR650R owned by another engineer that I work with parked right next to it.

I don't believe in Karma. I am more of a wild west justice kind of guy, so you can imagine what I would do if I could find the theif...

Just spitballing here, but didn't they pick it up and put it in a truck? Not sure a brake lock would work. Seems like a chain or alarm would be better options.

You can get disc locks with Alarms. The chain approach is the best if you have something to secure it to. If they really want your bike though, they will take it no matter what you do, so anything is better than nothing when it comes to stopping crimes of opportunity.

If you do get a disc lock, then place it on the rear disc, not the front. The rear wheel is a lot more work to remove.

Yep, That's why the left the XR650R right next to it. They went for the lightest one.

I think my bike was targeted from the start. The security camera footage showed them only ever look at or touch my bike. They came prepared to take it.

Plus, the last bike that was stolen was a GSXR1000, not exactly a light bike when compared to a Hawk. Also tossed into the back of a truck.

The recovery rate of stolen motorcycles in Omaha is less than 20%. Dirt bikes/Enduros is less than 10%. Chances of me seeing it again are pretty slim.

This is horrible. I can't believe it.

What kinda keystone cops do you have at your job? I let a buddy take my bike for a spin at work and our security spotted someone other than me on the bike and about 5 guards descended on him before he left the property. Our security is scary where I work.

A bunch of security guards more suited to a chair. There is only one there I trust enough to keep an eye on my bike because he rides as well.
