Shipping has been the main issue for most of these resellers. That's probably because they try to find the cheapest way to ship in order to be competitive. The better resellers will find the best and safest way to ship at an additional cost to keep a good reputation.

Congrats on the V star 250. I owned a 89 Route 66 which was the original V star 250. The only thing that has changed is the Price. I paid $2400 for mine when I bought it new. I sold it back to one of the mechanic at that shop 9 or 10 years later for $2800. You made a good purchase. That bike served me well for many years without a single issue. I think I still have a few oil filters in my shed I would be glad to send you.

One of the main reasons I bought my Hawk through killermotorsports was because they ship with SAIA. SAIA is a top notch company. I had great communication both with killermotorsports and SAIA, and I got my bike exactly when quoted woth no damage. The carrier is a huge part of the equation.

SAIA is one of the best. They started right here in Houma, La. Been around as long as I can remember. They delivered my Hawk in perfect condition. R&L on the other hand beat my daughter's UTV to hell.

All this shipping talk reminds me of the csc rx3 that showed up delivered that was smashed up. Csc said they would send out a new one. Some long timers should remember this . I think it was from last year. Wonder what happened with it. I don't think the poster ever said what happened. Just one of the drifter members I guess. I bet culcune remembers this one.

Doh!

Delivery Update #2

So I contacted them on Wednesday after being told they would send shipping info a well over a week ago, I got Don on the phone and he had a very aggressive tone immediately.

Me not being upset in the least had to tell him to just slow down I'm not in a rush, just give me some info on the sale and eta.

He had already offered me a refund and was say things like "I didnt say that" when I told him what his employees had said because he would never answer my call.

Once he realized that he was the only one freakin out he calmed and started talking to me, come to find out he never got the order sent because he forgot to show it paid in full......yeah

Well I ended up owing $150.55 toward the shipping bring the total just under $1500 but was never told that at the time of pay off.

On Thursday I received a (Paid in full) receipt and a bill of lading with a delivery date of 3-26 through Central Transport. we shall see

At this point I will just say its been a strange experience, We seem to get into off-topic conversations every time I get him on the phone and evasive order updates that you have to ask for.

Nothing was ever sent to me other than payment confirmations, Who's to say how long it could have gone if I just waited for them to reach out.

I'll update when it actually arrives...Fingers crossed!

That sounds similar to other stories I have read when people had problems with their shipments from them. Let's hope they stay true to their word.

Update #3

well its the scheduled pick up date and once again things are not going as planned.

I called the shipper who ended up being the supplier (Roketa). Nice lady and she knew about my order because it was just placed at about 12:30 this afternoon,

That's right I was given a pick up date and the bike hadn't even been ordered through the supplier until the day of pick up!

It gets better...She told me she didn't have the bike in the color I ordered and I would need to pick a different color and tell APSCUSA so they could show the change on the order.

You would think they would call and tell me there was a color problem and you wont be getting your bike today like we stated but NOPE!

I cant imagine anyone running a business any worse, I said I'm not in a rush but I do expect upfront clarity on a transaction when I do business with someone.

Question

This is shocking borderline disturbing. My experience with them was the exact opposite. I sent a check, once received and cashed the bike was schedule for transport to VA. I literally got the bike in 5-7 days, delivered by SAIA, after they got the check. I called them back to request the paperwork necessary for the registration and that was even received within 5-7 days. I spoke with Don and Pam(i think) a few times during the process and never experienced any sort of attitude.

I ordered and received the bike in 11/17 but didnt put it together until 3-4 weeks ago.

My experience was also good once I understood the process. I received 3 bikes at the same time from Texas and Cali. I also received the paperwork quickly. But who knows some times we get lucky some times it hits the fan. I've been a recipient of both.

Final update=

I didn't get called to pick it up today like I was told so I checked the shippers tracking and it didn't show tracking so I contacted them and they looked it up under a different number.

I happy to say it has arrived and is waiting pick-up tomorrow putting this all to slightly stressful end.

I have try to practice patience as best I can and as always things get worked out.

Unfortunately I'm learning if you want something done you have to stay after it or it may just end up getting filed under "I'll get to that problem later!"
