Blinker Fluid

So, which Blinker Fluid should I get? My 2016 Hawk blinkers are getting slow and dim so think its time to replace it. Should i switch to full synthetic, synthetic blend or high mileage? What brand should I use? This should help some of you noobies.

Autozone has a coupon for free but not sure if its a good brand.

Would the O'reilly brand be better?

I hope this doesn't turn into another oil thread.
Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

While I am partial to Valvoline brand-wise, It's hard to argue with SG's 100K blinks guarantee. Plus the ID-10T rating. There are plenty of ID-10T rated riders, and their bikes deserve all the help they can get.

Plus the universal 710 cap is a must IMO. Handy for adding pour nozzles. Many people are even using 710-rated fluid in their bikes as replacements for OIL, if you can believe that! It seems to work OK though.

If you can find it, the Russian blinker fluid is milspec, and realistically never needs replacing. They use it in the blinkers on their modern tanks which are equipped with blinkers, i.e. the T-72, T-80 and T-90. Look for this when browsing: блинкэр флуид

Thanks, I've read that the Pennzoil brand gunks up.

The Pep Boys are Manny, Moe and Mike. Note that "pep" when the d's are turned upside down spells "ded", so I am not sure about the longevity of the products they sell. Plus those three guys are all pushing up daisies now.

I think you should check out www.bobistheblinkerfluidguy.com ... many articles about the pros and cons of different blinker fluid weights, viscosities, types, brands, etc

I just replaced the blinker fluid in my Ram and had some left over. I wonder if it would be safe to use it on my motorcycle? Should i mix it?

If only my China bike had blinkers!

Mine came with winkers!

I have to order the special winker fluid straight from China.

Should I just change to USA standard blinkers?

Geez, I never even thought of that. I am not sure that blinker fluid is compatible with winker fluid. If anyone has already tried this, please let us know.

The US standard has to be better but you have winkers. I don't know.

Here is an excellent video on replacing blinker fluid. While it is a car-related instructional video, much of it also applies to motorcycles.

Chris does not address that in the video. Instead he applies Elbow Grease to seal the existing gasket.
