TaoTao 410BXL Help motor bog down

Hi,
I started up my Sons 410 BXL the other day since it hasn't been running in a few months and started right up. The problem is when you pull on the throttle the motor will bog down and die. Is it a carb issue? If so can anyone recommend a decent carb because I have gone through 5 of these cheap carbs?

Thanks, Pete

Hi Pete. I'm unfamiliar with that model; can you show us a pic of the carb and motor?

Carbs

Hello... why are you going thru these carbs?? if you use premium fuel they would not plug up and the air screw setting should not change.... once warmed up and the choke off ... it should run ok... or adjust the air screw until it will not bog under accerelration... check for vacuum leak around the mounts... ither wise please e xplain what you have done and a pic of the carb... thanks

Hi and thanks for the reply. Here is a stock photo of the ATV. I will need to take a picture of the motor and carb when I get home tonight.

I haven't done any work to the atv other than the replacement carbs, upgraded fuel filter, and installed a fuel shutoff switch, everything else is stock. I also haven't made any adjustments. I am using unleaded gas with sea foam added to the fuel. We don't have a lot of room to ride so my son only rides it when we can take it up north so it sits a lot. I recently added the fuel shutoff so I didn't have gas sitting in the carb. Thanks for all the replies!

I'm just throwing stuff . Is the fuel line ok. Sounds like contaminated fuel .

Always Use ethanol free Gas. 100% gasoline. Ethanol will dry out and crack anything made of plastic, rubber, vinyl. If this one has the vacuum operated Throttle slide you may have a vacuum leak. Or sometimes the slide just gets stuck from dust or just not being used. My daughters atv did this a few weeks ago and sure enough the slide was just stuck. Pulled it apart and cleaned the slide. All working again.

this won't help you get it going...
every 3 or 4th tank of fuel in my bikes
has carb / injector cleaner in it...
never have carb issues..

carb problem

I guess we can not help him if we do not know WHY he goes thru carbs... I know I tell people to only use premium gas.... if you can not then use sea foam or gas stalizber... the main things are dirty fuel. water in fuel... use some gas line antifreeze so rust will not form... the fuel shut off helps so the float does not get stuck and flood the engine with fuel.. those are the main problems... this is just the common 110 cc atv for kids. that he has here .. thousands of them run around with no problems and thousands run around with problems mostly caused by the owners lack of maintenance..
