It goes both ways as CSC took my word for missing bolts and broken clutch leaver and sent them out ASAP. The only thing they really wanted to know was "Is the address we have on file your correct and current address". We had the bikes sent to a different address from our billing address that had a loading dock and forklift. They could have asked me to prove that the lever was broken during shipping and the bolts where not in the crate by making me document the entire process with pictures and written statements but they just sent them out and thanked me for my purchase of their products.

I can't remember a time before my CSC purchase of two RX3's that I have not had to struggle with dealers and manufacturer warranties and these companies do not get my repeat business nor do they care. I don't think they worry about that much as there are 131,400,000 new potential customers born worldwide every year.

rj, I really wasn't worried about the warranty, but I do like to know the details about how things work.

I thought that if the warranty details were prominently displayed, it would actually help CSC.

The only problem that I know of was the case FLorange's battery failure.

And if he had known about the 6 month manufacturer's battery warranty, I think he would have understood.

Ironically, I will get to find out about the warranty first hand.

My engine, at 3,500 miles, has developed a metal to metal tapping sound and has been grounded until the cause is known.

Rats , that doesn't sound good. I hope yours didn't swallow the little pill like Detours did here:

I have read the Detours thread.

Doesn't sound good...pretty sure it's not the valve settings, I just checked.

The noise was apparent before the valve check.

I have hearing loss, and put in earplugs to protect what is left before starting the engine.

So I don't know when the noise started.

I have been exchanging emails with Gerry at CSC.

Gerry, seems to think it is a misadusted valve clearance.

I hope he is correct, but it doesn't sound like any loud valve clatter that I have heard before.

After just putting all the removed pieces back on the RX3, I will remove the necessary parts again, and check the valves once more.

Nothing would please me more if that were the problem.

I perform the service and maintenance on all my bikes, but I'm not up to doing an engine disassembly on a new bike.

If it is warranted, could a complete engine be removed and shipped to csc? I suppose anythings possible. Hope you find the issue, that's half the battle.

Yes, I believe there have been 1 or 2 instances of CSC having the entire bike shipped back to them.
