your point was well taken Doc . I looked up the hub price just in case . less than 50.00 usd plus shipping . The lathe i have available to me ,is our brake lathe . not a real lathe ,but have used it before on non rotor or brake drums projects . adapt and over come . anyway it makes circles you just have to figure out how to get the bit where you need it .

i don't know if anyone looked at the numbers on the gear compare . the megelli was already quicker than the viva . even with that high gearing . 48t should be a blast . I'm thinking maybe the top end may be faster ,because 6th gear ran out of torque at a pretty low rpm .

Really nice work recracer, be curious to know what kind of top speed you are getting now. Also one other question...was there any kind of cush drive unit in the hub?

I have seen 80mph And if i remember correctly around 6200 rpm . one reason i don't really remember for sure . it has about 400 miles on it . most of that was slower riding ,due to a bad brake vibration and not being broken in . just got the vibration fixed and winter set in really fast at that point
Yes it does have cush drive setup .

hopefully I'll get to try this out this weekend ,we may see near 50F . This sprocket looks huge to me on the bike

The kickstand looks like some grinding in the right spot here would allow it to tuck in a little tighter Off topic . Has anyone ever seen a goldwing with a car alternator , My other project Guess i should say ,i added the alternator

The Megelli is SUCH as good looking motorcycle. It could pass for a Ducati anywhere.

That Gold WIng is unique in creation. I've never seen anything like it. Did Larry The Cable Guy do the charging system? :P

Doc I added the alternator . gl1200 goldwings have high stator failures . many gl1200 owners have installed a kit similar to this . I'm not big on buying kits ,so I'm creating this setup myself . charging system was what put this goldwing down with low mileage

The charging system looks like it almost belongs.

That sprocket looks good on the megelli. Can't wait to see how it performs.

I high jacked my own thread . i don't have many photos of this .conversions are well documented on other forums for gl1200 goldwings.

Quick ride this morning .Still cold and very windy . i wasn't sure at first if i could run at speed . the wind was kicking me all over the place . impressions . i went to far , but 0 to 60 as fast as i can shift ,first gear bangs the rev limit faster than i can get to second gear . as much fun as that is , 72 MPH at 9500 rpm is not where i had hoped to be . I'm waiting for Daniel from megelli china to get back to me on what front sprockets are a fit on the engine side . this front gear has more like splines ,unlike the vive 200 . from what I've see it could be a match for Yamaha or Suzuki front sprockets . i have not pulled it off to get any measurements on it
Could be even more fun on warmer days and twisty roads or a go cart track ,but not on the highway or full size road course

it is a 6 speed doc . that Mph of 72 has not been gps verified
