That's great.

All the 15W/40, commercial diesel oils are excellent. I use Mobil Delvac 1300 because they offer a $5/gallon rebate, twice a year. In October, I bought 5 gallons of Mobil Delvac from WalMart for $11.22/gallon. In a few weeks I will receive a $25 rebate check from Mobil, so my final price was be $6.22/gallon.

The Mobil Delvac rebate occurs twice a year, every year, in the spring, and in the fall.

Spud, I saw rebate period for Aug1-Oct31. When is the spring time sale?
May have to switch if it makes your bikes run and shift more better. I've been using Honda dino oil, seems OK. RX3 shifted nicer then with the Valvoline Wal-Mart four wheeler oil. rj

The rebate period changes a little every year. The spring rebate usually happens around March. Keep checking the Mobil Delvac website.

https://mobildelvac.com/en

My RX3 shifts great with the Mobil Delvac 1300. I also don't have much trouble finding neutral, even with the engine running.

I use Mobil Delvac 1300 motor oil. It is 15W/40, and it comes in a black bottle.

You're welcome.

The Mobil Delvac 1 ESP, 5W/40 motor oil is an excellent, synthetic motor oil, which is recommended by the author of the CalSci article. The author also recommends Shell Rotella T6, which is another excellent synthetic oil, which is sold at WalMart for a very good price.

However, since I ride about 15,000 miles a year, and change my engine oil frequently, I choose to use one of the recommended, conventional, 15W/40 motor oils. Shell Rotella T and Chevron Delo 400 are excellent, 15W/40 motor oils. However, I choose Mobil Delvac 1300 over the other 15W/40 motor oils, because Mobil offers a $5/gallon rebate twice a year. At that time I usually stock up on motor oil, and buy 5 gallons of the Mobil Devac 1300, in the black bottle.

I ran Quicksilver 20W-50 full syn in a previous bike and it worked very well. Just curious if anyone has tried it in an RX3 yet? It's available at most Wal-Mart stores.

Quicksilver 20W-50 Motorcycle Oil, 1 gal:
Protects gears, transmission and wet clutch
Meets or exceeds manufacturer's warranty requirements
Meets or exceeds API SF/SG/SJ/SL/SM and JASO MA2

I haven't heard of it, but it's nice to have options. How much is the gallon jug?

It's 24.97 a gallon at WalMart. Im seriously wanting to move up to a full syn 20w-50 next oil change and just trying to make a good selection. My personal experience with the oil was good but that was on a different make of bike... As I recall it's a Mercury lubricant just rebranded.

If it's inexpensive and sold at walmart, Walmart probably ownes it. Just like the super tech line of auto oils. I use the synthetic 5w30 in my autos.

I think I will go with this stuff, also hoping for less notchy feel on the bashan.

That's a good price for a full synthetic. I'm curious how 20/50 will work in our bikes. I wonder if the higher viscosity will reduce blow-by in the cylinder. But higher weight will at least help mitigate thinning from fuel in the oil.
