I personally prefer the simple Carburetor set ups over EFI.... not that EFI doesn't have it's place because is sure does...

This is how I view it.

Around town = EFI
Out on the trails = Carb.

Being stranded in town means at the worst a tow truck or a pickup can give you a quick ride home. If you are out in the wilderness, nothing beats the simplicity of a carb.

It is funny you say this...I envision a plain old Hawk for riding in the desert (next fall since it is already HOT here), but using the DLX for year-round daily commuting duties like my two TMECs did for me for 4 years straight. Ironic since the DLX has more 'off-road' bits than the regular Hawk, but I couldn't envision the DLX or the Lifan X-Pect being used for serious off-road. There is a guy on the China Bikes North America group which you are a member who has a DLX in New York City, so this kind of proves my point. My only hesitation with the DLX in general vs. the X-Pect is that I would expect (no pun intended, but I'll go with it! ) Lifan would back the bike better than RPS would back the DLX. That would be a consideration dealing with the EFI vs. a regular Hawk which I would have no hesitation, it being so straightforward.

I can supply a code reader etc
Or check RX3 section as it’s the same ecu type
Just generic Delphi like Briggs and Stratton used in some mowers and loads cheap China EFI bikes
