I'm not sure about which specific ATV's, but several ATV's motorcycles and three-wheeled trucks around the world use that engine, which is copied from the CG125 that you have in the UK.

The best source I can think of is www.taobao.com

Don't register, just browse. If you find what you want, we can give you guidance from there. Save the items you'd like to buy as a bookmark.

BUT NOT this time, Spring Festival is coming http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chunyun. Parts wholesaler (7 days a week… NO matter what's on calender... ) had ~1 month holiday. Retailer often had ~10 days holiday. Courier shuts door for ~1 week .

Ok, let's back up.

What was the tooth count of the original starter? What was the tooth count of the original gear?

I tried to find it on TB, but it's not working right now. Where did you find it in the US? Can you show us a link?

Use Google Chrome to open this, and allow it to translate: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?spm=...ucket=8#detail

Click on "CG125-9 gear motor + large teeth", and you'll see that the price is 46CNY. Google says that translates to 4.84GBP. Cheap.
